I am currently prescribed adderall. And i just ordered some Piracetam in the mail. I would like to be able to take the piracetam regularly, and the adderall on certain occasions. Do they negatively interact? I read somewhere that piracetam potentates amphetamines. Is this an issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks ahead of time guys.

I take Adderall IR; 20mg tablets 3 times a day or when needed.

I take Piracetam around 3g daily along with Anircetam 800mg. I experience no negative side effects.
Try for yourself and see how you like it.

I experienced excessive sweating, memory lapses, racing thoughts, mania. Adderall usually has a calming effect on me. There is another thread about this where the risks are discussed more, I believe it is in the wellbutrin/piracetam thread. If you do try it, I'd be interested in what your experiences with it are or if you get the same thing.

I did read somewhere when researching Piracetam that if one uses any of the racetams while using amphetamines, one should use less because the racetams increase the effect of the amphetamines. If your Adderall is in tablet form, break it into maybe 1/4 the size the first time. Then you can experiment by gradually increasing the Adderall dose if 1/4 was OK but you think a little more might be better. If it's in capsule form, open the capsule and then estimate what 1/4 of the powder would be, unless you have small size capsules with a filler machine and a scale. You may find that you can get the same effect from using much less of the Adderall in addition to getting the other effects from the Piracetam at the same time. That would mean you would save money on Adderall prescriptions.

there is some debate over whether it causes excitotoxicity. see: http://www.imminst.o...o...=34909&st=0

I tried it with the dumb assumption that it was likely safe, like most things are with piracetam, and then experienced the side effects (I was seriously worried I had damaged my brain, for a while) before looking it up. I felt somewhat consoled that I was at least taking a shit ton of antioxidants that block excitotoxicity. I stopped taking the piracetam and didn't resume my adderall use until around a week later, and the side effects were gone by then. as with a lot of questions surrounding piracetam, there isn't really a clear answer. to the OP: a brief response basically saying "yes I tried it and it's safe." is probably NOT what you should be looking for.

I suppose your right. I do have IR tablets. So it would be easy to take a fourth. Plus i'm only on 10mg. Will look into this more.

Just a quick question about Piracetam. Does it give you anxiety at all like Adderall does? I tried Adderall a few years ago and I couldn't deal the the terrible anxiety and "stressed-out" feeling I would get. Also, would Piracetam help to study for a exams or is it just for creative thinking?

Thanks

I personally experience no stress, anxiety or any other side effects from Piracetam. You do have to use a choline supplement to support the increased use of acetylcholine in your brain. The only potential problem is the side effect of irritability if you use too great of an amount of the choline supplement. This could lead to too much acetylcholine in the brain at one time. I use Alpha Gpc as my choline supplement.

I think it is conducive to both the focus you need to study as well as creative thinking. You might find Noopept to be an even better study aid. Here's a quote: "Noopept:

I took two 10mg tablets today and held each under my tongue untill dissolved. I took them both with about 4 hours in between. Tomorrow I'll repeat this then experiment with three on the third day to see what happens.

Ok, I honestly really can't tell you if this was placebo or not (because the effects were not perceptibly mind blowing) but I felt... Different. Factually I can tell you that I managed to do more study today than I have done all week- maintaining focus stoically. This again, could just simply be an increase in my motivation to study in order to determine the drugs effects, and not the stuff itself.

There was a certain clarity though. I can't really put my finger on it but what I'm doing at the moment is quite technical and I was able to focus more than I was able to yesterday. Maybe another day on it will reveal something more substantial. "

That's from here: http://www.imminst.o...showtopic=30636. You do need to cycle with Noopept. Read the instrucjtions for dosage and administration here: http://translate.goo...e?h...l=en&sa=G.

I don't know if you need a choline supplement to get the full benefit from Noopept or not. I happened to be using Alpha GPC with some racetams when I used Noopept. Perhaps it worked so great for me because of a synergy from all of those things at the same time.

Try to stay active while on them as you will be consuming alot of cortisol. Amphetamine + Piracetam is an interesting combo I wont comment on whether or not is is universally good, but if you take conservative doses of both and don't let your use get out of hand you will be more in the safe zone.

Adderall does make me sweat a little, but I sweat a lot in general and usually require to be inside with air condition or in a cool dry place. I experience a flight of thoughts from the use of Adderall and my nootropics, but I don't view this as a bad thing. I suffer from mania and experience cycles of different thinking at times and that in turns changes howI act or go about something; but I don't view that as a bad thing. With my regimen of nootropics I have noticed an increase in my sensory perceptions and overall level of function.

My mind has become more fluid and sometimes I become overwhelmed with sensory information. However, I think perhaps just really applies to me since I am autistic. I am prescribed 90, 20mg IR Tablets a month, but sometimes I just take 1 or two a day when I need to complete something, study, etc.

I suppose the only thing you can do is try and and see how you like it, and edit your supplements accordingly.

What kind of autism are we talking about here?

I don't know. I know it's more like a autism-spectrum scale. I feel I am not as bad as some people I know, seen, or read about.

But it complicated my life in serious ways. I just don't speak. I honestly have just 1 close friend. I am unable to be active socially and within functions, hold conversations with things I don't know about. But it's with someone who has the same level of understanding, I'm normal, but it is very hard to find people like that; hence my 1 friend. I did awful in school, and would not go for months because I was scared and I didn't know how to interact with the other children. I am 19 now, and I suppose I am doing better, but I am still in high school and still need another years worth of credits. I did score a 32 on the ACT. I have taught myself Calc, and 1 year Chem, Bio and Physics and wish I was just home-schooled from the beginning.

The use of Adderall and nootrpics actually has been helping me and I feel more comfortable and more expressable then if I am not on them.
