Since Mirtazapine also causes increased serotonin release, so it is hard to know the net effect on 5ht2c. The two effects might cancel out, for example.

i found mirtazapine to be indeed anxiolytic, but it killed my libido. This was at lowish doses of 3.75 mg, 7.5 mg, and 15 mg.

Screw that. I'm trying to become more stimulated in general -- appetite, sexually, socially, etc. The sedating effects would be tolerable if I took it only at night, but if it causes lack of stimulation of any kind then I want nothing to do with it.

It is claimed that highr doses of mirtazapine are more stimulating (above, say, 30 mg), while lower doses are sedating.

Okay, I think Agomelatine is a bust for me. I was on 25 mg for about 2 months and upped the dose to 50 mg two weeks ago. I can't feel any effect on mood - in fact over the past few weeks I have been feeling waves of despair again despite being on the agomelatine, and the higher dose has not improved things. I was also hoping to feel some anxiolytic effect, but nothing in that department either.

anyone know if you can get this in Canada? My sleep specialist seems to think it's not available here...
