Looking for alagebrium, but unable to locate. Sent a message to Paul Wakfer, but no response and morelife hasn't been updated since 2006. Maybe alagebrium didn't help him?

Someone suggested stenlabs.com so I asked for a lab analysis from them. It was just the data, with no letterhead or source attribution.

Have there been any new developments with AGE breakers lately? Better compounds?

I do not know how Paul Wakfer relates to others, but I am a complete washout to him. He claimed several years ago, that he did manufacture the stuff, but he could not sell it to me, because I was not “a scientist”. I cannot follow that reasoning, since I have been stuffing things into my mouth, ever since I was an infant and getting more discerning over the decades, I even leaned to measure and dose, what goes into my mouth; - nothing scientific about it. But I believe, that it is at least partly personal in my case.

Nevertheless, with that door slammed into my face, I started to look around and have today received my first shipment of alagebrium chloride from China. While that stuff is quite reasonable on a p/month basis, the minimum order of 1kg at a price of $2,180.- including shipping costs, - but with big T/T problems it may well go up to $2,500.-, makes it a big lump to swallow, a) purely financially b) coming from a constituency outside available legal channels.

If it works out the costs per person/month at the typical dose used during the clinical trials of 400 mg/day works out to $31.25, but you would have to buy a 6 year and 8 months supply in one shot, unless you find somebody to share it with.

I did a lot of wheeling and persuading to be allowed a small sample order of 150g at a hefty mark-up and a final cost to me of almost $600.-. The next time I will have to go for the full order, but by then I will have established the efficacy and hopefully persuaded other participants to share the shipment with.

This is my first post in this forum and I am not sure how it is administrated, if there are notifications of follow-up posts in thread you have posted in and if there are provisions for sending private mails?

I do have a wish list, and would appreciate if somebody could help me out with abstracts or other description about dosage, procedure and results during the Phase III clinical trials of Alt711, the one, that bombed, when the set endpoints for pulse pressure could not be achieved.
Also I would appreciate it, if somebody could point me to a source fro accurate 0.5cc* measuring spoons. I have already manufactured a couple, but while testing out accurate, they are glued together and I would prefer some which are cast in one piece.

* the 150g alagebrium measured out at 338cc. Therefore one of two daily doses of 200mg fills about 0.45cc.

Thx for finding those suppliers Solarfingers.
Lets hope people who have bought from the companies before chip in with their experiences here.
Perhaps starting a new thread on this is a good idea to get these reviews.

Protective effects of 2,3,5,4'-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-d-glucoside in the MPTP-induced mouse model of Parkinson's disease: Involvement of reactive oxygen species -mediated JNK, P38 and mitochondrial pathways.

Tetrahydroxystilbene glucoside inhibits TNF-α-induced migration of vascular smooth muscle cells via suppression of vimentin

Vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) migration triggered by TNF-α is an important event that occurs during the development of atherosclerosis. 2,3,5,4′-Tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-d-glucoside (TSG) has been proven to exhibit significant anti-atherosclerotic activity. Herein we investigate the inhibitory effect of TSG on TNF-α-induced VSMC migration and explore the underlying mechanisms. TSG pretreatment markedly inhibited TNF-α-induced cell migration. The inhibition of vimentin redistribution and expression was involved in the inhibitory effect of TSG on VSMC migration. The suppression of vimentin expression by shRNA in VSMCs significantly inhibited TNF-α-induced cell migration. Furthermore, TSG inhibited the TNF-α-induced expression of TGFβ1 and TGFβR1, and phosphorylation of TGFβR1 and Smad2/3. TSG also suppressed the nuclear translocation of Smad4 induced by TNF-α. These results suggest that TSG inhibits VSMC migration induced by TNF-α through inhibiting vimentin rearrangement and expression. The interruption of TGFβ/Smad pathway appears to be responsible for the suppression of TSG on vimentin expression.

Protective effect of tetrahydroxystilbene glucoside against d-galactose induced aging process in mice

Tetrahydroxystilbene glucoside (TSG) is a strong antioxidant and free radical scavenger derived from Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. The present study aims to evaluate the protective effect of TSG against d-galactose induced aging process in mice and its possible mechanisms of action. Our study revealed that administration of TSG improved the memory ability and regulated the body weight of mice. TSG also reduced the levels of ROS, NO and IGF-1 and increased the levels of SOD, Ca2+ and Klotho protein in the serum. Furthermore, TSG up-regulated the expression of Klotho protein in cerebrum, heart, kidney, testis and epididymis tissues of d-galactose induced aging mice. These results suggested that TSG had a promising anti-aging effect by regulating Klotho gene.
