Has anyone had tried Methylphenidate (Ritalin) for OCD? I can only find anecdotal experiences online. Does it make OCD better or worse?

Suppose a person didn't respond to SSRI's, SNRI, etc. and a tricyclic like Clomipramine is out of the question as it's sedating. The person has co-morbid fatigue and attention issues. Memantine isn't an option either as it probably wouldn't be prescribed but you can get it's OCD therapeutic effects from NAC anyway. The only other thing that looks promising from my research is Ondansetron.

How about:

Ritalin, NAC, and nicotine each morning. Would this work for OCD, anxiety, and be stimulating as well?

What's a good adjunct to Ritalin, nicotine, NAC that won't flatten your mood too much, have serious side-effects or interactions, or contribute added fatigue? Ondansetron?

I've heard Memantine works for treatment resistant OCD. Search on PubMed for studies.

Inositol reduced my social anxiety more-so than anything I've tried including ritalin and 5-HTP. I also noticed an improvement in my mild OCD symptoms. Inositol dissolves nicely in water, and tastes pretty good. It has no side effects. My dose is 8 grams/day by the way, and it's pretty cheap but it depends on which brand you use. I tried two brands of inositol. One was sweeter than the other one and wasn't clumpy like the other brand. It worked a lot better than the other one, so watch for those quality clues.

Has he/she tried cognitive behavioral therapy? So far it seems to work very well for me (I've been suffering from OCD for nearly six years).

Most of those drugs listed by Ark aren't available where I am except L-theanine. The best drug i ever tried for my generalized anxiety was Pregablin (Lyrica), however, it effects glutamate release which makes OCD worse. Would Gabapentin do the same? Does it have Pregabilin anxiogenic effects? Would NAc offset it's OCD inhibiting effects?

Hell no, Gabapentin has been associated with suicidal behaviors and acts.

Surprisingly enough, mushrooms and acid have been shown to improve OCD symptoms via many of the same pathways as SSRI's. If you do some research on classical hallucinogens you'll find a large body of research focusing on OCD.

Not advocating you doing them, just letting you know that they are a possibility.
