"70% originality/creativity" The microscope originally struck me as creative. Is it original? Well I guess most of the other people are wrapping nick nacks, vehicles, people and animals. I wish it had a person in there yes, and a golden beaker and test tube rack or something but well, we'll see, it still has a shot. Hindsight is 20/20.Since this isn't a charity contest and votes count for only 10% in the judges' decision-making process, why would this trump their human interest criteria to which they seem to be assiduously adhering to?
They write that they will be choosing ten to move on to the finals. We are in the top ten. That doesnt guarantee that we get in, but this entry is on their minds because it is popular and worthy, and hopefully creative and original enough for them.Since the official rules say nothing about getting into the top ten, why is this relevant?
They might not see that it is part of a grander bigger picture, but Im sure that they can see that we can put this money to better use than most of the others. Is that our shoe in? Probably not, but it can put chips on this entries side.Again: Since this isn't a charity contest, I don't see why this is relevant. Another reason why this seems irrelevant to me is that the claim that this is actually a "cause" is unverifiable from the judges' perspective even if they thought that it was a good idea.
They may be, but they may also be people that are familiar with and or involved in your typical kinds of causes, ie walk for america, alzheimers type deals. Chipotle Burrito is after all health orientated, organic, enviromental, etc...Since almost everyone is in the pro-aging trance, the odds are very high that they are as well. Even in the unlikely event that they're not, picking our entry wouldn't match their human interest theme, and so wouldn't match their marketing objective of associating Chipotle with activities that their website visitors would feel comfortable with. In other words, it's highly likely that Chipotle doesn't want to be associated with what the vast majority of people would consider unimpressive and boring.
We havent been picked to win any burrito cards etc... That seems like good news, it indicates to me that they might be saving this entry for one of the bigger prizes.

Since it's pretty clear that they're only picking entries that have a human interest element, other kinds of entries are excluded by default no matter how creative and original they appear to be. Since "originality/creativity" are subjective, they have plausible deniability in this case as well. Based on this evidence, the probability is high that the microscope entry won't get picked."70% originality/creativity" The microscope originally struck me as creative. Is it original? Perhaps I was to quick to assert that it was probably too late to fix the entry back on the 21st. On the other hand, the cat was already out of the bag in terms of Aubrey's and others' promo efforts, and so, most would probably have been against adding another entry and promoting it instead.I wish it had a person in there yes, and a golden beaker and test tube rack or something but well, we'll see, it still has a shot. Hindsight is 20/20.
Anyway, it's still not too late to add a better entry and won't hurt to try. If anyone is interested, I suggest not using a burrito (contrary to my earlier suggestion) in the entry as it might be viewed as too ingratiating and inauthentic. Since the microscope entry has been promoted more than enough, Aubrey and the rest of you might want to promote an alternative entry.
Again, their modus operandi is clear: exclude any entry that lacks a human interest element no matter how popular or creative and original it appears to be. As for "worthiness," that isn't part of the rules and is therefore unlikely to be relevant.
No, they can't "see that we can put this money to better use than most of the others," because there's no mechanism in place that would allow them to verify how the money will be spent. So, I fail to see how "it can put chips on this entries side."They might not see that it is part of a grander bigger picture, but Im sure that they can see that we can put this money to better use than most of the others. Is that our shoe in? Probably not, but it can put chips on this entries side.Again: Since this isn't a charity contest, I don't see why this is relevant. Since aging research is not mainstream as opposed to age-related disease research which is mainstream, I don't see why the judges would sympathize with our particular cause even if the rules allowed them to.They may be, but they may also be people that are familiar with and or involved in your typical kinds of causes, ie walk for america, alzheimers type deals. The burrito prize is won by whichever entry has the highest number of votes for the week with supposedly no interference from the judges. But since we're not interested in winning that prize, the fact that the judges are only picking entries that have a human interest element for the $2k prize is not good news.We havent been picked to win any burrito cards etc... That seems like good news, it indicates to me that they might be saving this entry for one of the bigger prizes.

I went to http://gold.chipotle...howentry/757031, and registered, and signed in, and went back, and still didn't see any vote button, or any way to vote.

The contest is in limbo at the end of round 1 (ended the 8th) right now and so you cant vote at this time. If we make it to round 2 then you can vote again. If we make it to round 2 then the weight of your vote is going to be increased too.
