I purchase approximately half of my supplements from NOW Foods, and that proportion is likely to increase in the near future. I've found their products to be, by and large, unbeatable in quality and value. However, there are aspects of quality that are impossible for the typical consumer to properly evaluate. While a lot of people seem to share my love of NOW Foods, I've also heard that some people think their products are inferior. Seeking more information, I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. As you can see, their rating is a C- on a scale of A+ to F. Obviously, this is not very good. However, under "Factors that lowered NOW Health Group, Inc.'s rating," the only one listed is "BBB concerns with the industry in which this business operates." If the BBB is simply concerned about the herb and supplement industry in general (or some subset of it, which NOW deals in), then that doesn't concern me, since it doesn't indicate anything objectionable about NOW Foods in particular, relative to its competitors in this industry. Thoughts?

Should NOW Foods' BBB rating be worrisome?

Factors that lowered NOW Health Group, Inc.'s rating include:
BBB concerns with the industry in which this business operates.
Factors that raised NOW Health Group, Inc.'s rating include:
Length of time business has been operating.
Complaint volume filed with BBB for business of this size.
Response to 2 complaint(s) filed against business.
Resolution of complaint(s) filed against business.
BBB has sufficient background information on this business.
So there's two complaints that were closed in 3 years. Zero in 12 months. And the BBB doesn't like the industry?
Well for a company that sells millions of units a year. This is wonderful. And the industry does suck. And for me, they are one of the bright stars in it. Their facility is literally pharmaceutical level QA testing and analysis. It is amazing and state of the art...if you get a chance to tour, do so. For me...they're one of the few good guys.

As far as the BBB goes. I wouldn't put much thought into their ratings. http://www.ripoffrep...-buye-eq4fb.htm
You might just keep to reviews here and on iherb/vitacost/swansonvitamins. If quality is an issue on a certain product then you "might" find it in one of these sites.

Could you elaborate? I get garlic extract, green tea extract, ginkgo biloba, and curcumin from NOW. Should I be concerned about the quality of these supplements?

Since you already take curcumin, all you gotta do is order a bottle "Turmeric Tri-Force 95" from Tattva's and then
compare their product with NOW and see which one is high quality and which one is not.

Nature's Way would be a better bet. For curcumin, you can also buy turmeric in bulk at the health food store spice dept. and put in into gel caps. Watch out, it stains. You can also use curry powder similarly. It stains too. For liquid alcohol herbal extracts, Gaia is the best. I use their ginkgo biloba. Nature's way does contain what it says it does and it is in good condition. Same with Gaia.
I'll try to remember Tattvas. I learn a lot here.

The quality of AOR is better I assume (which is what I used to buy) but the prics are crazy!
I use a few products from NOW Foods
-Beta glucan
-Quercetin + Bromelain
-Adam Mens multivitamin
I read a lot of good reviews about NOW Foods so I just went with them. Hmm
