We currently work with cafepress for merchandise. Some people have expressed a need for merchandise like this and they, and then a few others Ive found are interested in helping with it. There is an indefinite life extensionist that some of you may be familiar with, Im not sure, his name is Ian Hale, and he runs a printfection store for other causes. He says printfection is better than cafepress. They look about the same to me, does anybody have any insights and comments on that? If we switch to printfection, which is said to be better, then I think he'll also help us sell (thereby also helping promote) through his stores and internet connections. I think the people that do the art for them may also then be more willing to help us.

So, should we start a longecity printfection store, or do it in cafepress?

Are they both free? If so, why not use both? If the other is anything like Cafe Press then customers will be using a search function to find products.

Both are free yes. Im not sure about both. I would rather use one to keep it simple. Printfection comes with the potential for the other indefinite life extensionists we know who use printfection to help us out and they say its better. They both have search yes.

There is also Zazzle, which doesn't provide statistics, but like CafePress have international sites.

Will Ian promote you? Will you feel better having made a move? and feel a breeze of fresh air and be more active promoting the items?

Do people buy the items now, from your Cafepress store? Who buys, Americans, Europeans, other? CafePress print European orders in Europe, so I presume the delivery cost may be lower and no custom; if Printfection dispatches from the US to the rest of the world, the cost may be higher (8-10 business days outside the US http://www.printfect...php?articleid=3).

What do you think about having both this way: Longecity will be on Printfection and ImmInst will stay on CafePress? So that you can test which one works better for you.

Google Analytics shows around 89,000 absolute unique visitors for Longecity in June 2011 and around 83,000 for Imminst during June of last year.

We dont sell stuff in the store now, and so like your getting at, this is more about moving this into a medium where we might have a few people working with it, and that is more important than the popularity of the site. Knowing these things I would like to get them to run the Cafepress store, but they are already wrapped up with business and work involving Printfection.


In the end though I think that having both probably works well too though, and we can always switch later if one or the other proves to tank or gain traction.
