Hi, i have been on SAMe for three months. It works great for my depression and mood. But, i,m noticing hair loss and thinning hair. Also, i,m noticing lot of gas and bloating. Anyone here is having this side effects? Is hair loss possible with SAMe? I,m taking vit.b complex and acid folic. Thanks

I've seen other posts on other forums about SAM-e and hair loss so perhaps there is something to it.

I'm taking low dose (200mg/day) and have had no trouble, but again... Low dose.

You might look into "Biotin" AKA Vitamin H (the H represents "Haar und Haut”, German words for “hair and skin”).

And/Or "Cysteine" from eggs (in the yoke), or NAC supplements (N Acetyl cysteine) cysteine, an essential component in hair and nails.

Hope you find a solution. SAM-e beats getting hooked on prozac any day!

I won't say it's impossible but I really doubt it.
