I have capped a months supply of MB; I used sodium ascorbate as the filler.

"capped"?
I just started taking it yesterday. I took one dose a week ago. Pissed blue for the whole week. Speaking of pissing, MB seems to lead to urinary urgency for me. Any one else experiencing this?

Has anyone taken a full 65mg oral dose three or four time a day as used in the Rember trials?
Is Urolene Blue (65mg pills) still available - if so from where?

A couple of questions:
Has anyone taken a full 65mg oral dose three or four time a day as used in the Rember trials?
Is Urolene Blue (65mg pills) still available - if so from where?
If anyone is thinking of using MB for Alzheimer's, I'd suggest you try nicotinamide (or niacin) first.
Nicotinamide restores cognition in Alzheimer's disease transgenic mice via a mechanism involving sirtuin inhibition and selective reduction of Thr231-phosphotau.

Has nicotinamide or niacin been shown to do anything for Alzheimer's in humans? MB has been trialed in humans for AD, so it's a known quantity. High dose niacin and nicotinamide in oral dosage forms are OTC and used by a lot of people, so if it really helped in AD, I would think we'd have heard of it...

In the plot below, the highest quintile is only 22 mg/day. People taking it for cholesterol take around 3000 mg/day.

I have been dosing at about 60 mg / day
I was thinking since I have been taking it for so long, I should upgrade to ultrapure. I can mix the solid with water to make my own solution. If someone could paste that link, I would be most appreciative. Google hasn't been helping me find the link.

It looks kind of like blood, or engine oil. I can't decide which. My son said I could freak people out if I told them I drank goats' blood, LOL.
I call it unicorn juice because it makes me pee and poo rainbows.
Some people have mentioned that they have issues with stomach upset, or diarrhea. In this form, I can't taste the MB, and it doesn't hurt my stomach or give me any digestive problems.
This cup is a 20 mg does. I drink 3 of these per day.
In the morning I take my vitamins, and down have a cup. I then mix in 40 g of pea protein add more water, and finish it.
At lunch, 1 cup + 40 grams of pea protein.
At night 1 cup + night time vitamins + 40 g of pea protein.
I have been doing this for about 8 months now.

Here is how I take the MB. I put it in a mix of 50% beet juice, 20% concentrated grape juice, 10 % grapefruit juice concentrate, 10% pomegranate concentrate, 10% cranberry concentrate.

What effects, if any, have you experienced?

Well I have a lot more energy than most people. I typically ride 10 miles per day on my bike, and it feels like nothing. I have been training running stairs, and the training goes fine when my family isn't interrupting me.
When I first started MB, I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. I was in Manhattan then, and under a great deal of stress, so it might have been the stress. I just slept all day one Saturday, and was fine after that.
When I go off MB, and then back on, my mind races, and I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and can't sleep.
Now that I think of it, my son says I am inhuman, because I am such a light sleeper. He would stay up all night playing videos games at his mothers house. I hear the slightest sound, and stop him in the middle of the night.
I am 47, my son is 18. I run him into the ground doing everything, weather it is riding a bike, running stairs or whatever.

I have gone off, and back on, one time, and my mind definitely started racing and keeping me away.
Would this product be considered ultra pure, or pharmacutical grade?
I think this might be the product that I saw a year ago.

I thought it was possible to buy a 1g batch.
I am not totally sure this is what I saw a year ago.

My apologies for necroing this thread, i'm sure my question is a better fit over here (please correct me if i'm wrong).
Recently, i became somewhat interested in trying Methylene Blue. After digging up some old threads on this forum, i discovered the many different flavors out there which confuses the heck out of me. Many users are using an aquarium supplement from Amazon. Unfortunately, i cannot order from the US as there are some import restrictions preventing me from doing that (i live in the Netherlands).
I'm no chemist, but did notice Wikipedia mentions a molecular formula of C16H18N3SCl (various nootropic distributors use the same formula).
The source i found over here is distributing C16H18CIN3S (it is a 1% aqueous solution used as lab dye).
The study using Rember / Methylthioninium chloride appears very similar in structure to C16H18CIN3S
Am i dealing with something else here? Please shed some light on this... thank you!

Years ago i took large quantities and posted here about it. I was trying to relieve bipolar (2) depression). It did not work well for me. No other side effects besides the tidi bowl effect.

I would be interested in trying this, if it were available as pharmaceutical grade. It may be unwarranted, but I am just hesitant to ingest a pet-store grade chemical.
Here is one source of Pharmaceutical (USP) Grade Methylene Blue Crystals – 99.6% Pure

sorry to bump an old thread. I just read an article about methylene blue being used by the "2nd smartest man in the world":
http://finance.yahoo...-180300411.html
Upon research methylene blue is said to be an MAO inhibitor, which is said to be effective for depression. I'm not sure if I've ever seen methylene blue as an ingredient in any of my supplements, but I have seen that name before. It could have been from a household product such as an eye dropper or maybe even shampoo. Can someone help me out figure out where I may have seen methylene blue as an ingredient? I hope to find it in human grade if there's such a thing. I wonder where the "2nd smartest man in the world" gets his from?

It is used in aquariums to treat fish diseases. I Believe it is also used in laboratories as a dye or something like that.

a dye as in coloring? I could have sworn I've seen this in an ingredient, not sure where if it was in an edible product like a supplement or a household product like a cleaner or a shampoo but great info.

Any pet shop that sells supplies for aquariums. It's an analine dye invented in the late 1880s
It's all so known as dolly blue. Fish are so sensitive to pollution in the water far more than us so it's more than pure enough from aquarium suppliers.

those won't be toxic for human use?
#359
Posted 09 December 2014 - 10:14 AM
It's only likely to be toxic in larger amounts.
A couple of years ago one of the large pharma companies bought out a pill as a treatment for Alzheimer's.
Called Rember. ( remember with two letters missing ) All it contains apart from the filler was methylene blue in a specific amount.

Does this mean methylene blue has some aluminum and is that a concern? Wouldn't taking a combo of the listed ingredient in methylene blue work just as well or it's all in the formula?
