Team Guidelines

a. Snail mail and/or phone gain points by posting the name of the person they are sending the letter to and a verification when it is sent. The posts must be made in this topic.

With phone the person must post the name of the person they are going to call, and then post what the people on the phone said when they are done.

b. Email gains a person points when they do the same as with snail mail.

Any suggestions on who to contact this month? Who has been talking about or working with indefinite life extension either directly or indirectly?

Preferable if it is at least a slightly obscure person. People currently in the lime light tend to have a series of defenses up against fan mail and inquiries and things.

I personally think that it may be a good idea to contact a few billionares if there are ways and means of getting names. It's sod's law that I've thrown out my copy of The Big Issue that had names of rich philanthropist types in when it could have been useful! One of the names was Anurag Dikshit and yes, I did only remember that name because I'm immature and it sounds a bit naughty.

It's a long shot but after listening to the Electronic Saviors CD, I thought that maybe you could potentially do well by contacting the person who is involved with that? I know that as a cancer survivor, he mainly raises money for cancer research in US but hey you never know. The site is here: http://www.electroni...Vol.2/News.html They're bringing out a second compilation, which makes me happy! The first one is superb...the only charity CD I've brought due to good music. A lot of music done for charity are pretty slow and depressing and I'd often rather just make a donation to said cause than buy a CD/download. The first compilation is an exception and I'll so buy the second if I'm not totally destitute by the time it's released.

I am considering contacting some of the people via e-mail who have made some of the songs that I posted up in the life extension related music thread. The artists that make the lesser known music aren't megastars so maybe there's a better chance of them sitting up and listening. I like e-mail a lot more than snail mail, as nothing physical gets delivered to my home and I can use a pseudonym.

Okay, I've decided to e-mail to band websites rather than individuals, as you never know who could pick up. That and I'm drained dry of inspiration. I've picked bands that are known but perhaps a bit unusual and maybe open to the idea of life extension. I also said I'd consider contacting the artists I posted up in the music thread and I did along with bucket loads more. I'll add to this as it progreses but so far I've done. Unless otherwise stated, I've targetted only one address:

Even if the musicians themselves do not pick the e-mail up, someone has to...even if that someone just discards it as spam after reading it. At least awareness will then be in someone's mind.

On that Electronic Saviors guy, I didn't contact him, as I felt that as you were from the same country and would be more familiar with the charities he's helping, you would be perhaps better equipped to talk to him.

I left a message on a blog post by Ray Cokes. Don't know whether it'll be approved and I'm doubting it will but someone has to read it. All I know is that I grew up watching him on MTV and I found a picture of him now looking a lot older. You see how much aging changes a person, especially when your only memory of them is from childhood.

E-mailing multiple recipients is a good idea - So far I've targetted seventy individual addresses this month and it doesn't break the bank like snail mail. Also, it is discreet and nothing physical comes to your residence, which is a major appeal of e-mail over actual letters to me.

That's a brilliant idea. I tend to just end out the same e-mail to everyone. It's simple, to the point and lets the taregets know we're here should they wish to learn more.

I wrote to a second this month, this time to Evanescence through her record label email. If she wrote back I think I would probably back flip down town and get some champagne. Of course, chances are it will never get to her, but you just never know. We up the odds by writing for this team here and it pays off. It has paid off a few times already and you just never know when it will again.

Would be an interesting exchange of e-mails, as they are a Christian band as far as I know. She may be against the idea of life extension due to religious reasons but then again, I don't know her denomination nor how strict her beliefs are. However, if it makes her think then it's a good thing.

I was drawn in when I found her duet with seether in youtube, and then looked up some of her other songs, which led me to the song My Immortal, I read the lyrics and realized what a powerful message against death it portrays:



That coupled with the theme in the notion of their album "The Open Door" made me think that she is probably the kind of person that can think in these indefinite life extension sorts of ways and understand this kind of stuff more easily, maybe not though. And she can be a Christian, that's alright, lots of indefinite life extensionists are. I think its easier if they aren't but I like the prospects in the potential with Evanescence.

Well...it would be interesting to know what her views on the whole thing would be and if she did reply to you, I'd also express pure joy! :D I'd be so getting the flags out if she was supportive too. I'm glad that there are Christian life extensionists out there, as it shows that there are progressive religious/spiritual people out there. I think that religion and its teachings of kindness and compassion can do a lot of good. However, it's when people argue over who is right and it escalates that it causes problems. That and when people ram it down other people's throats.

I really want to do some more e-mails to people at some point. Want to try to do something for February if I can fit it in.
