It's hard for me to comment on nefiracetam. I got it a week or two ago and am experimenting with it now. However I was taking it with alpha-gpc which i think may confound the result so today i have not used alpha-gpc.
First I started using it at 1200 mg for 2 days. I notice that there was a focus enhancing effect but that there was also an emotional blunting effect, going along with others who have said it is demotivating, makes you apathetic, numbed out etc. I also tried at 600 mg for 2 days. Same effect but less so. Even though I made it sound negative, it does kind of calm you down. It's just that I don't find it mind opening or mind clearing, but rather, helps you to be less disturbed. I am more focused, but the reason for that is because I just don't care enough to get distracted. Pretty much the same thing at 100 mg doses which I took for 2 days as well, but the effect did seem less pronounced.
What I just wrote was all while I was taking it with Alpha GPC. Also I tried this with and without food. Not sure if there was a notable difference except potency may have been higher and onset took longer when taken with food.
Today I took 600 mg in the morning, and 600 mg in the afternoon. [it is now only about an hour after my second dose]. This time I didn't take alpha GPC. But also, I did something else different this time...
Last night I bought a good quality coconut milk which gives something like 25% of my daily fat intake per 100 mL.
This morning I took nefiracetam with this coconut milk. Both doses were taken with about 100 mL of the coconut milk.
I didn't think this would make a difference, but it appears that the nootropic effect from the nefiracetam is coming on stronger. In fact, it's a bit like oxiracetam in its nootropic effect, and dare I say there is somewhat of a stimulating effect, yet it still has the mood-stabilizing effect which people [i.e. MeDieVel] mentioned. Also it has a kind of nice body awareness effect, which I know for sure others have mentioned but now I am experiencing it myself. Like your body can definitely tell that you've taken a drug. At times it has been a dulling effect, but today it has been a pleasant body effect; almost somewhat opiating [but not mind muddling nor fatigue producing. I might even dare to call it a pain-numbing effect]. Also I have increased body awareness. It's a bit hard to describe. It's like this: when I rub my finger across my neck, the bodily sensation is more fine, that is, I can feel more precisely the position of where my finger is, as my mind is measuring smaller bits of information across the stretch of my neck that I'm stroking.
Quite interesting indeed but the jury is still out on this one for me. I don't want to jump the gun; perhaps I'll post again about this.
Other supplements currently being taken: 200 mcg of Methylene Blue.
