Gingrich is probably the most forward thinking/futurist of the candidates, as far as I have seen. However, I am naturally drawn to Ron Paul's libertarian ideology.

I think the main reason that Newt Gingrich would want to build colonies on the moon is for the super rich elites, the 1% if you will, to live, after Earth is hardly habitable from the ravages of global warming, environmental degradation, war, crime and other symptoms of extreme resource and income inequality. How many of us on this forum would be able to afford what it must cost to live on a colony on the moon, except perhaps as a servant to one of the elite?

If by "transhumanist" you mean that the guy's barely a human being, I totally agree.
