My answer "yes" was to the previous question.  My answer to , "I'm sure if the bible said there were rabbits pink and blue that christians would believe and make up a story as to how there are none today," is nonsense.  You are off topic because the issue is evidence for Atheism and you have provided none.

Well, it seems Old School believes there was a giant race of people based on mention of them in the bible, so why not if it mentioned pink and blue tree swinging rabbits ?

Since there's no evidence against atheism, atheism wins. This is how lack of belief in {insert random bullshit} is substantiated. It's too bad theists do not take their existential doubts seriously :)

Because, there have been giant people and he gave examples of some of them and their skeletons.  Are you not aware of them?  Not only that but there are still giants alive today as well as very small people and even smaller humans have lived in the past.  For the educated, this is not strange at all and we do have evidence.  For the ignorant I suppose it seems like pink and blue swinging rabbits. Why not?  Because giants and wee people are real and pink and blue swinging rabbits real in their parts but not real in their collective makeup.

You are right, there is no evidence for atheism.  It is the belief and clam there is no God.

Millennials: The least religious generation
27 May 2015, 12:47 PM
In what may be the largest study ever conducted on changes in Americans' religious involvement, researchers led by San Diego State University psychology professor Jean M. Twenge found that millennials are the least religious generation of the last six decades, and possibly in the nation's history.

The researchers -- including Ramya Sastry from SDSU, Julie J. Exline and Joshua B. Grubbs from Case Western Reserve University and W. Keith Campbell from the University of Georgia -- analyzed data from 11.2 million respondents from four nationally representative surveys of U.S. adolescents ages 13 to 18 taken between 1966 and 2014.

Recent adolescents are less likely to say that religion is important in their lives, report less approval of religious organizations, and report being less spiritual and spending less time praying or meditating. The results were published this month in the journal PLOS One.

"Unlike previous studies, ours is able to show that millennials' lower religious involvement is due to cultural change, not to millennials being young and unsettled," said Twenge, who is also the author of "Generation Me."

"Millennial adolescents are less religious than Boomers and GenX'ers were at the same age," Twenge continued. "We also looked at younger ages than the previous studies. More of today's adolescents are abandoning religion before they reach adulthood, with an increasing number not raised with religion at all."

Compared to the late 1970s, twice as many 12th graders and college students never attend religious services, and 75 percent more 12th graders say religion is "not important at all" in their lives. Compared to the early 1980s, twice as many high school seniors and three times as many college students in the 2010s answered "none" when asked their religion.

Compared to the 1990s, 20 percent fewer college students described themselves as above average in spirituality, suggesting that religion has not been replaced with spirituality.

"These trends are part of a larger cultural context, a context that is often missing in polls about religion," Twenge said. "One context is rising individualism in U.S. culture. Individualism puts the self first, which doesn't always fit well with the commitment to the institution and other people that religion often requires. As Americans become more individualistic, it makes sense that fewer would commit to religion."

This is not talking of the entire world.  In fact belief in God is growing all over the world and the fastest segment are Christians.

I was thinking of all the extra children that will be sexually abused because the christian faith won't deal with the abusers in their orginisation in a proactive manner.

Whereas you could only think of a smart arse comeback

@shadowhawk

I'm not sure how we'd establish the truth of your statement (eg, belief in God is on the rise worldwide). We do know that the world's population is growing, though, so maybe you're right in terms of sheer numbers. More people believe in more stuff generally, and God is one belief among many. The demographics of Christianity certainly appears to be shifting from developed countries to the less-developed. We might conclude that as the world's science education levels rise, belief in non-scientific thought begins to fall. Christians make up about the same portion of the world’s population today (32%) as they did a century ago (35%). Christians continue to gain clients in sub Saharan Africa, Central and South America, and parts of Asia and Oceana. But Christiany also seems to be losing customers in Europe, the U.S., Canada, Japan, and other more prosperous and educated corners of earth. In other words, as humans begin using their brains more, atheism and agnosticism rises. And that's in tune with the Christian bible, right? Isn't there a scripture that says God doesn't want educated people to go to Heaven?

One of the most developed nations, China has a christian population growing at about 400,000 a day.  It will soon be the largest Christian population on earth.  Don't think Christianity even in the most developed nations is dead.  Belief in God isn't dead.  Google Christian Education in America.

Yes, the revival going on in China today is the greatest in the history of Christianity.  Google it.  Also there are a number of books that have been written about it.  Christianity is no longer a European religion.  Never was.

This is from the first listed google search in numbers of christians in china dated from 2014

"By 2030, China's total Christian population, including Catholics, would exceed 247 million, placing it above Mexico, Brazil and the United States as the largest Christian congregation in the world, he predicted."

If we take 400,000 a day it would only take two years to reach 290 million

Isn't this the funniest crap you've ever read Lol

From the same article, this is the mindset of the newly converted......

"It is a wonderful thing to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It gives us great confidence," beamed Jin Hongxin, a 40-year-old visitor who was admiring the golden cross above Liushi's altar in the lead up to Holy Week.

"If everyone in China believed in Jesus then we would have no more need for police stations. There would be no more bad people and therefore no more crime," she added.

Oh boy, too funny, and sad

Everything that really needed to be said on this topic was said on the first page. My take on it at this point is that the best you can do to "evidence" (strong) atheism is show that reality itself contradicts the idea of deeply involved, personal gods, unless additional, often self-contradicting ideas are introduced to try and explain their apparent absence.

Reality itself is not an argument for Atheism.  The physical world with its creator/god creating itself is what is without evidence.  God  explains existence as it is but to discuss this here would be off topic.
