Of course- exactly. It just postpones the whole process.. that's why he tend to wake up later than normal.

 

[I doubt this would work for heavy long term ashwagndha users who already started to have its famous side effects, though ;) ]

 

and naturally you tend to drink less because it is synergistic with ashwa.... so like normally u would get 5 beers now u can have 3 beers and ashwa, but it does no matter as it is synergistic... GABA effect cumulates, and so is coming down from that plateau 2 days later. Two chemicals acting together on the brain on the same time are probably harmful in the same way as just one, but in bigger amount.

 

anyway for me I do not take any 'magic' supplements anymore, just stick to good old herbs mixture from time to time. My anxiety, social phobia an averything has shrinked so much that sometimes I can't believe it :)

 

I've changed my life, job, people I was hanging with, stopped drinking, smoking and few other bad habits like eating junk food and that helped a lot. Good luck to you guys.

 

There's no magic pill - if you have serious issues for long time, you need serious effort to un-done the damage, whatever the cause.

good example will be mixing cocaine and alcohol - both are synergistic, too and when taken together both cocaine and alcohol are starting to be stronger that when taken alone.

But thats because the liver makes cocaethylene out of the two substances that does not have to happen with all combinations of substances.

Sorry but what do you mean by 'famous side effects'?

I'm a heavy long term ashwagandha user and I take it every single day in doses up to 500 mg (extract) / day and have zero side effect, only the benefits. This stuff works like it used to work for the past 2 years. For the past 2 years my dosage is the same, I take it every single day without any breaks and I never experienced tolerance with ashwagandha.

Don't listen to mangoa. Taking two downers is a lot better than mixing an upper with a downer.

So a redbull/vodka is a hell of a lot worse than ashwagandha/vodka.

 

Also, you might be able to drink less alcohol when on Ashwagandha.

 

Xanax and alcohol is not that bad either. It's way more healthy taking 2mg alprazolam with 3-4 beers

than drinking 20 beers in a night.

ps. besides, 20 beers? u mean normal, 500ml beers? good luck if an ordinary lad can pour down 10 liters of liquid during normal usual night out. ;)

Side effects - headaches, rebound anxiety, agrressive patterns/tend to be more anxious / hard getting to sleep after some time - all connected with downregulation of GABA, even if small.

 

 

Andrey, you are certainly from the group that is not very common - luck to you ;) all of my colleagues, myself, my gf get side effects after some time with ash. It probably goes down to how sensitive is one's GABA system I guess..

it was just an example, maybe not best.

 

xanax and alcohol will be better ;) but as I hear it's a great mix... surely it is, we are not talking about how good high it provides but how it weights down on GABA/dopamine systems.

 

You think why there is little warning on the alprazolam tablets leaflet 'do not mix with alcohol'? You think they put that there to prevent hippie-youngsters drugging themselves to death? ;) Of course not. [not only]. It is because the mixture can produce fatal results and you don't know how your body [e.g. cardiovascular system/heart] will react to it.

 

[they would, no matter what would be written there anyway ;) if there is a line 'don't mix wit ***' they tend to be more eager to try it lol ]

It could be that all of you are taking higher doses and much stronger extracts which can (probably) lead to side effects. I can only remember that I experienced some light headaches long ago when I started and when I was trying to find my 'right dose'. Sometimes I take it if I wake up during the sleep, just to sleep better. It helps in few minutes, but don't take it every day before bed, just during the day.

 

I aslo found one big advantage. If I take too much caffeine during the day ashwagandha somehow 'kills' the bad effect of caffeine and I can sleep better. Same goes with sex. If taken before sex (10-20 minutes before) it somehow makes you more confident and you are more focused. It gives you ability to think only on one thing ;). I'm sure that people with many problems (work... ) know what I'm talking about'. It somehow blocks the flow of milion other things that ate passing through your mind without your control. Belive me, sex is great with ashwaganha. If your mind is clear, all is working better.

I've been taking ashwagandha in the mornings around 100mg, partly for the ACh support since I'm dealing with anticholinergic side effects of another medication I'm on. This may seem too low for some people but I use many things at the same time and I do best with low dose combinations so they all get to work together without it messing with my neurotransmitters in ridiculous ways. Migraine prevention is typically my foremost goal and that can't be acheived with just 2 or 3 things.

Doses higher than this start to be almost sedating and I don't appreciate those kinds of things during daytime hours. I've had no headache from it so far and I'm a migraineur who used to be very sensititve to vasodilation (with my new stack I can withstand a lot more triggers now)

I don't take it after a certain time so that I don't have high ACh nearl bedtime

There have been much longer threads. Some productive ones that have gone on for years, in addition to some that are just sustained argumentation. Be glad this one doesn't take a month of non-stop reading to go through, to find out which ;)

I took KSM-66 for a month until the bottle (and my wallet) ran out. I did notice a lowering of potency past the first few days, but the same can be said for almost every substance. The benefits lasted well until the end of the bottle, even if the initial subjective feel didn't.

With too little self control you will drink too much an black out.

But I even had success with phenazepam and alcohol but I wont recommend it, somebody else might not get enough and black out.

Ok so a quick after-report.

 

Actually, I have to admit that I was wrong- the mix of ashwa and 3 guinesses was very good. calm, and as already mentioned- seemed to be lacking of normal alcohol tingles... or anxious mind.

 

After that I did not felt the urge to have 'more drinks'. So, to sum it up - after 1 beer it felt like after 3, but more mildly and without whizziness / head spinning.

 

So, the mix felt healthy - but I need more source-material to decide whether it actually was. Because not always if somethng feels good it is like that for our bodies.

How much ashwagandha are you taking? I just started taking some today Himalaya brand with 470mg per pill.

I have been through the thread and found it very interesting. I would like to share also my experience with you, some years ago I faced to a very strong fatigue, brain fog, ... feeling almost dismist... Then after having tried many supplements, I tried this one "DIESEL TEST Hardcore" from Get Diesel Nutrition and very quickly my strong fatigue went away. I have no relastionship with this company and just want to say that it saved my life. It is a blend of many plants some are mentioned in thread since they are adaptogens.

 

I do bodybuilding hence this supplement was interesting me.

I go to gym 3-4 times per week

 I think this is the part that everyone is skipping over. From post 1. I think I was saw something about exercise. 

 

 

My question to those who claimed ash stopped working for them; does their regime include exercise?

 

I for one want to give ash a try; though I dont know how much how calmer it can make me, since I have mellowed out from my teen years.

Mindful meditation has helped allot. 

Though, I would like to be on the more talkative spectrum as it does have its benefits.

I also do HIIT occasionally, so yes; I think I'm working out plenty. I don't think I've noticed any benefits though, even when I took twenty pills at once (about 9 grams of the root, swanson brand). Not sure if it's the brand or what, but I doubt it is. I had high expectations too...

I wish ashwaghanda had these discernible effects on me ...... I use jiaogulan with grape seed extracts and the effects are everything I get from ash ...only sustainable and very much so more ( I'm ADHD - pi comorbid with C-PTSD) how do say mentally palpable and tangible feeling

Hi there.

I have added 1.000 mg of Tribulus Terrestris each morning on empty stomach. I'm following this for the past 5 days together with my usual rhodiola and ashwagandha intake. I'm planning to take it for the next 3-4 weeks and after that one week break, and then start again. For now I’m very satisfied because my confidence level (and also concentration and focus) is higher than before. A lot higher. I think that Tribulus makes a nice combo with ashwagandha. Can anybody share their experience or explain whay this (probably) helps? I dontt want to confirm something or say it works 100%, it's better to wait one month to see the real benefit and results. Again, ashwagandha is the one that keeps me going and I still feel the best benefit from it, but with this combo is even better.

ashwagandha made me extra hairy! especially on the face and i really do not need any extra hair on there
