Of course- exactly. It just postpones the whole process.. that's why he tend to wake up later than normal.

and naturally you tend to drink less because it is synergistic with ashwa.... so like normally u would get 5 beers now u can have 3 beers and ashwa, but it does no matter as it is synergistic... GABA effect cumulates, and so is coming down from that plateau 2 days later. Two chemicals acting together on the brain on the same time are probably harmful in the same way as just one, but in bigger amount.
anyway for me I do not take any 'magic' supplements anymore, just stick to good old herbs mixture from time to time. My anxiety, social phobia an averything has shrinked so much that sometimes I can't believe it
I've changed my life, job, people I was hanging with, stopped drinking, smoking and few other bad habits like eating junk food and that helped a lot. Good luck to you guys.
There's no magic pill - if you have serious issues for long time, you need serious effort to un-done the damage, whatever the cause.
