Way cool. Producing the proteins outside of the cell is a brilliant idea. I'd imagine it simplifies the process by eliminating other variables such as lipids and irrelevant proteins. I wonder if this method can be applied to produce proteins on a large scale for medical purposes. Maybe you could produce insulin, ApoE3, or some other protein with great purity and efficacy.
