BBC When I'm 65 Season

Droplet's Photo Droplet 04 Jul 2012

The BBC in UK are having a series of programs on the theme of "when I'm 65." There are two very interesting ones by the looks of it, one called How To Live Past 100 features a woman who at 103 still goes for her morning swim and a man 104 who still finds time for his rowing machine.

They're also putting on a program about The Town That Never Retired, where older people in their seventies are put back into the workplace. Link to all this here: http://www.bbc.co.uk...rammes/p00tt325 Scroll down for even more.

I think that this season of programmes is a great excuse for people to leave comments on the various sites on the fact that we can fight against our silly body clock. Also, now that wider society are waking up to the impact of an aging population, perhaps they can also be awoken to the ideas of life extension.

TV, the favourite past time of the majority and the thing they really listen to can hopefully make them scared of getting old. I can only hope that a life extension-related program gets aired in the not too distant future..or at least that scared people who know the truth of their demise will pass by here as they look to Google for advice on anything that can slow the disease lurking within them. I still also think it would be ace to get a life extension advocate in one of the dire reality shows they love dearly like Big Brother or The Only Way Is Essex. Make it look trendy and there will be people caring more.

Yes, let's make the reaper bored of waiting for the little timer to run out by filling it up with yet more sand by the power of science..then maybe he'll consider getting a better hobby...or perhaps he'll quite enjoy part-time work and realise the merits of working less hours. ;) Now we just need to convince society that this is a great idea, which we know it is.

Oh and if this cause ever gets popular and mainstream, there should be a T-shirt in the store for us to buy saying "I supported life extension before it was popular."
