On a side note I checked out a copy of the "Encyclopedia of Mind Enhancing Foods, Drugs and Nutritional Substances from the local library and on page 186 it mentions PRL-8-53. The description is a bit lite. "An experimental drug that has been shown to increase recall in subjects by much as 150 percent"
I also chuckled at the definition of Ampakine. "A drug developed from ampakines, a class of biochemicals, has been found to enhance communication between brain cells. Subjects have been shown to have enhanced performance on memory test, and it may show promise in helping those with such disorders as Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia, in which the high-speed electrical signals that link the brain's complex neural circuits are failing."
Still a great resource though

OK what append! My bank account just got charged $80 and I have a negative balance.
Amount included in Available Balance Processing ACH HOLD COLETTE HAMILTON IAT PAYPAL ON 04/04 activity type debit
status type icon pending
-80.00 -59.48
One of us probably tried to charge back the amount he paid. Also, as Isochroma previously has stated, we should really be aware of companies not accepting PayPal. Through wire there's no way in hell we're going to get a refund if this turns out to be a scam. There are many companies on Isochroma's list accepting PayPal. Did you ever contact them?

If how ever did this could revers/cancel this that would be great. It is still in processing. Right know i face a $40 dollar fee, plus the $80 dollars plus fees for every day it goes unpaid and I do not get paid tell next Tuesday!

Not sure who you bank with Q, but my bank allows you to depost checks by simply taking a picture of it with my phone... People could just send you the pictures.

Could always just try it the old fashion way and send physical checks through the mail.. Might take a few days but atleast its reliable.

I bank with Bank of America and the picture option is a valid one it just may be the answer we are looking for!

Yeah, good option. Q, you can dispute the -$80. You shouldn't be charged as the refund is processing as you said.
Believe me I will dispute it. And PayPal did an illegal thing by withholding funds when there was not any illegal activity and the only ones who can are banks and the federal government. And last I checked PayPal was not a bank. But what ever, every thing will work its self out and we will obtain PRL-8-53.

This method pretty much limits the group buy to the US. How will we address people from Europe?OK what append! My bank account just got charged $80 and I have a negative balance.

This method pretty much limits the group buy to the US. How will we address people from Europe?
One solution could be as follows:
A person from Europe sends money via PayPal to a person in the US participating in the group buy, who will then send the money via check to Q. This way the money sent from EU will be spread to a number of persons instead of one.

Paying by check? Does that still exist? Isn't that stone age technology? Can't everyone just send the money to Q through their online banking account?

I don't want to deal with Paypal anymore. As Q said, what they did should be considered a breach of trust.I have better idea how to securely get the funds transferred to user Q did it. Please make an eBay "buy-it-now" auction for a T-shirt called "Q-did-it fan T-shirt with autograph" and set the price at 80USD with PayPal as payment option. Set the available item amount to 25. We would buy it and pay via PayPal - the money from eBay selling activities is absolutely OK for PayPal I imagine. Plus eBay would send You the shipping information of each seller.

If some unknown person buys it You would make just some honest 80USD for almost worthless T-shirt.

eBay has seller fees so you would have to charge over $80

Yes! eBay could be used.

I imagine the fees should be ok in size! Western union charges 20€ from me to send 80USD to USA from my EU based country.

We have several solutions:
- each EU based person sends $80 to a US based person who than writes a check of $160 to Q ($80 for himself and $80 for the EU person); cons: lack of trust
already proposed eBay tshirt post; EU based person should cover all eBay fees- Western Union transfer
- anything else that exists out there; what matters is that each person sending funds should cover all the transaction fees

Well, anybody else wanting to volunteer their PayPal account for this purpose?
You only risk your account becoming permanently limited.

Guys, please do not overcomplicate things. Q agreed to receive funds via standard checks - in digital (picture) or physical form. I think that this is the way to go for us based in the US, and we should focus for Europe based people only now.
We have several solutions:How many people are there from Europe participating in the group buy anyways?

More than us from the US ? Q, you should be able to provide exact numbers.
Guys, this is a minor obstacle. The important thing is that we remain determined to realize this group buy.

13 plus my self is 14 persons in the US.
So there are 11 non US based people - more than I anticipated, I admit - but still less than 13 (not counting Q).
Some of those 11, if there are any, can send money to Q directly via Western Union.
For the rest I propose the following action plan:
- Before any money is sent, we should here agree who (from EU) should send money to whom (from US)
- When we agree upon that, the people from US should write a check dated a week from now to Q for $160 including the money from his EU 'partner' (remember no money has been sent yet from EU to US via PayPal)
- All the checks are sent to Q (pictures or physical checks)
- When and only when Q confirms that he got all the checks, people from EU send the money via PayPal to their US parnter
- EU partners notify the forum that they have sent the money and US partners confirm that they received it
- If US partners do not receive funds from their EU partners, they cancel the check (if possible) and notify us here; Q destroys the check;
- Otherwise if and only if everything goes well and we ALL agree that everything went well Q deposits the checks to his bank account and wires the money to the lab
