13 plus my self is 14 persons in the US.

So there are 11 non US based people - more than I anticipated, I admit - but still less than 13 (not counting Q).

Some of those 11, if there are any, can send money to Q directly via Western Union.

For the rest I propose the following action plan:
  • Before any money is sent, we should here agree who (from EU) should send money to whom (from US)
  • When we agree upon that, the people from US should write a check dated a week from now to Q for $160 including the money from his EU 'partner' (remember no money has been sent yet from EU to US via PayPal)
  • All the checks are sent to Q (pictures or physical checks)
  • When and only when Q confirms that he got all the checks, people from EU send the money via PayPal to their US parnter
  • EU partners notify the forum that they have sent the money and US partners confirm that they received it
  • If US partners do not receive funds from their EU partners, they cancel the check (if possible) and notify us here; Q destroys the check;
  • Otherwise if and only if everything goes well and we ALL agree that everything went well Q deposits the checks to his bank account and wires the money to the lab
I think this is a easonable plan. Any comments ?

Can I send the money directly to Q's account as bank to bank wire transfer? NB! My hat off in honor of Q for soldiering on with PRL-53-8 group buy!

Yes, you should be able to do so. However, there is a fee for that. When I was back in Europe the fixed fee for wire transfer I made to a US bank account was 30 euros.

I am 100% in on a group buy!
This is one of the most interesting compounds I have encountered so far!

We should all wire transfers even if there are fees. The product is cheap.... this is cutting edge science we have access to. We are pioneering and should be afraid to pay more for something that may enhance ones mental faculties. Let's fet on with it amd assume the fees.

i think we shouldn't rush anything and a few days don't matter as long as we find the best solution to this problem with transferring money. this is the first group buy here and we should find the cheapest, easiest and most reliable way. i believe it would be nice to find a method that would support further buys as well, not depending on how many people there are form US or EU or (mostly) any country.

also, i think the costs should be reduced as low as possible cause nobody knows what is a lot for somebody else and the last thing i want is anyone not having enough money to buy a product if he/she wants to participate.

i'm sure there is a good way to do this, we should do a little bit of googleing or ask on other forums that do group buys more often... maybe someone has more experience with this?

For those not located in the US you can send it via wire transfer by bank or WU. But with the wire transfer there is a $12.00 incoming fee at my bank deducted from the amount you send. Since most of the participants are in the US shipping grand total should be under $175. $5x13USp+$10x11=$175 but for the sake of safety we will round it to $200. So $200+$1600=$1800 which divides out to be $72 ($71 without rounding) per participant. But US participants will still pay $80 and Europe to other (Australia and Hong Kong) will still pay $80 but if WU or a Wire issued than my bank will deduct $12.00 so the amount I would be receiving would be $68 and WU fees are on your side. If all Europe to other (Australia and Hong Kong) participants use WU of Wire than $80x13USp+$68xEUp=$1788. For those of you in Europe to other (Australia and Hong Kong) see which has the cheaper fees to send the funds WU or your bank.

OK what append! My bank account just got charged $80 and I have a negative balance.

Amount included in Available Balance Processing ACH HOLD COLETTE HAMILTON IAT PAYPAL ON 04/04 activity type debit
status type icon pending
-80.00 -59.48

That's my name, Q ... but I did NOT carry out any chargeback. In fact, I only checked my PayPal account a couple of hours ago, even though I received the refund message yesterday. I haven't received my PayPal refund - it's still sitting at "pending" and, according to PayPal, I'm not due to receive it until 8th April once they've checked everything. I don't know why this has happened - I used my Visa debit card to pay you the $80, and I have never done a chargeback before in my life. I can only assume this is something related to PayPal or the Visa debit system.

I'm sorry that you have this negative balance, but please believe me when I say that I haven't lifted a finger with regard to this transaction (apart from to login to my PayPal account to have a look). Everything is on hold for me too.

Its fine and it may not be you but I called my bank and had them stop the transaction, its all taken care of.

So yes everyone still pays $80 but those in Europe to other (Australia and Hong Kong) will have to pay fees on there end.

Can we get a tally of those who have a hold on the refund (post here or pm me)? If they try to hold your money just threaten to take legal action. This usually gets them moving ;)

That's cool - glad you got it sorted. I can't deny that this whole shenanigans has made me very wary of using PayPal for anything again. They say I've to wait until the 8th for the refund to clear - I've never had wait for a refund with them before.

"If they try to hold your money just threaten to take legal action. This usually gets them moving" and they cannot legally hold your money from what I understand. They are not a bank or the federal government and no crime has be committed.

Yes US based participants can wire the funds through Chase but you will have to add $12.00 to cover the incoming fee.

If you are in for this pleases PM me but send a NEW pm. I have around 500 messages and it would be a pain to go through them all to get a tally.

Recap: US can wire the funds but its an addtional $12 to cover the incoming fee or buy check to avoid the fee.
: EU to other original amount ($80) by Wire to bank or Wire to bank though WU (check to see which is cheaper, WU $10 fee and banks run as high as $25)

a Tipanet money transfer to the US is 7,50€ at my bank. So if you're from Europe you should check the fees of your bank as they might not actually be as high as expected.

Your the one I was speaking of. Just trying to keep everything confidential.

I will send out my bank information and address soon but please do not send funds until I give an the all clear/go. I just want to be sure we have enough people still interested with all the changes that have been made.

So options are: WU, Wire to Bank, and Check by mail. With WU and Wire to bank please add $12 to the original amount in you are US/Canadian Resident.

So I can use Chase's QuickPay service without a fee but it requires that you create a QuickPay account as well. Also, since I am already a chase customer, you do not have to be to sign up. Are you alright with doing this Q?

ummm, pm me your bank info - I'll just wire you the money via TT sounds easier.

edit: when everyone has agreed on what to do, personally cheques sound fussy.

Already taken into account. It will likely take a week or two to get all the funds rallied up.

Edit: Checks are still accepted if any one was wondering.

I just PM'ed you this, but i know you might not get back to PM's so i'll post here:

Paypal released the refund, so I'm back in. I don't want to pay more than $80 (i'm a student and money is tight). Can I email you a picture of a check and then you can take a picture of it with your phone from the email on your computer?

Any way, let me know what i can do to be in and not pay over $80.

Sending you a Bugs Bunny check for all the trouble Q!

On a serious note, thanks for all the work your putting into this. It really is impressive. Within the envelope, my check is contained in a folded, A4-sized paper with my username in it.

Hope it all works out!

Still no bitcoin transactions? It can be fast and if you are able to exchange the amount for cash the same say, theres minimal risk of inflation.. I am a bit lose in bank transactions overseas, even WU.
PayItSquare looked promising too..
