I hope everyone here understands that when we find the groundbreaking nootropic(s), it's something that never can be released to the public. After all the hard work and dedication we've put down studying various drugs, why should the public get a free ride to ingeniousness? Also, the sole purpose of becoming more intelligent is that you get more intelligent than the people around you, right? I hope everyone understands this and doesn't go tell their friends first thing...

Once a young guy decided he wants to be more clever/smarter than all his friends and even than the rest of the ordinary people. His wish was heard and fullfiled. But to his surprise he stayed exactly the same and instead the rest of the people become dumber.

I dont think we want this scenario and I hope that developing more intelligence can help us develop even more intelligence/wisdom/acceptance and great solutions to vast majority of problematic things. Moreover most of us know there is not any miracle pill which will do its work on its own and that these substances are just great mediators and amplifiers of our current efforts and mind usage.

I watched this group buy go through just before I was about to buy-in. I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in being bought out. PM me.

To the thread at large, have the items already shipped, because if not I would like to redirect the shipment upon buying this person out.

It looks like you guys ordered PRL as FREE AMINE, but in publication there is described its HYDROCHLORIDE SALT.

Its known that non-protonated amines tend to rapidly absorb moisture and CO2 from atmosphere forming carbonates, and are also much less stable. As an exeample - amphetamine is a liquid, but its hydrochloride, sulphate and phosphate which are used in vivo are well defined stable crystalline substances.

if i understand right, this is the product that Q was planning to purchase last monday - http://www.novochemy...spx?pr_id=13581 clearly says hydrochloride.

This hasn't been checked out; but, if this compound acts on the alpha 7 nicotinic receptor, then it would be great for attenuating neurological disorders. I'm still wondering if it is a full agonist or a PAM. But, I'm fairly certain this works on the nicotinic receptors.

It's likely that PRL-8-53 is a full agonist at the alpha 7 subtype of nicotinic receptor. Hmm..

One way to figure out if this is a full agonist is too see how quickly tolerance develops to the effects described in the article. If there are substantial increases in working memory, then there may be a decline over time. Unknowns.

How did You reach at this conclusion? From the article about PRL-8-53 I found the fact that it should increase both the NA-ergic and ACh-ergic neurotransmission most interesting.

Novochemy is located in China? If it is, would it be possible to ship the drug directly to ScienceGuy and not to America first? As for me (Norway) it would maybe take several weeks extra if shipped to the US first and not directly to the UK.

These forums are watched more than you might think. Everything worthwhile here has an increasing tendency to get into the semi-mainstream pretty fast. CILTEP is a good example of that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it being pimped by Tim Ferris?

iirc, Tim Ferris just "pimped" one thing in the CILTEP stack and he claims to have heard of it from a "hacker" (lol).

To his credit he said to me on twitter that he tried to say that the stack was invented by me in his wired article but they edited that out.

https://twitter.com/...345991022817281

As far as nootropics go, you could have the cheap all natural sustainable herbal stimulant with effects that Tim Ferriss would compare to modafinil and only a small population of nootropics geeks would even give a crap.

I think you are mistaking memory for cognition here. I'm sure the Zembrin+Forskohlii works great on LTP; but, we're trying to enhance our cognition a la. (working memory, retention, verbal fluency.)

Man, this thread is phuqing beautiful. Hey, if you're reading this we have ONE more spot left for you. Contact Q did it! for more info.

We need to start a new thread and start requesting the Longecity members who are in this group buy to do some psychometric testing (Dual-n-Back, for starters to measure working memory.)

You can also contact me to claim you're spot. I'm here most of the time.

Perhaps it is a bad idea to post about this on Reddit? The fastest growing segment of their user base is preteens and teens. Their irresponsible behaviour is going to bring us trouble.

HAHA, that's funny. As a moderator of the nootropics subreddit, I have to discourage people from following Longecity advice all the time. If there is any irresponsible behavior arising, it surely originates from here first.

Not that I am discouraging you from any of it. It's very interesting to see megadose threads of unstudied subtances, and anecdotes of vaporizing chemicals from China without 3rd party testing. Most of the front line discussions start here first, which I think is a very good thing.

We moderate the nootropics subreddit very strictly, and uphold very high standards of information dissemination. You don't have to worry about "preteens" bringing you trouble...

Well if this compound is dangerous and gives permanent brain damage we'll know it from here, it is unlikely to be dangerous but since no human has ever tried it we never know. Afterall MPTP is active in humans but does nothing to rats.

Sure, but we are not megadosing them, nor are we vaporizing them.

I am also organizing 3rd party testing of vendors product to get some real purity ratings. We are paying for it by donations from vendors for recognition in our FAQ section, as well as personal donations. The fund is currently up to around $2,000. I currently have 3 racetams from Health Supplement Wholesalers at the lab being purity tested as we speak. Once we receive the results from that test, we are going to be randomly testing various vendor's products, as well as some generic modafinil brands. I am trying to do something about the lack of third party testing.

I am also organizing placebo controlled studies of various nootropics to determine effectiveness. This is also being paid for by donations from vendors.

I am doing a lot to help bring some objectivity and scientific approach to the nootropics world, and have worked very hard to make sure r/nootropics is a good place to get information and discuss cognitive enhancement. It's not a bunch of preteens doing god knows what you think. I love Longecity, and have respect for your approach. Perhaps it would be good if we showed some mutual respect to one another.

Thank you for your effort. I emphatically agree. There are some reckless topics on Longecity. Like using drugs to treat a simple issue or using lsd to enhance creativity. It's a really great place, Longecity, and the spirit of unrestrained freedom it has with it. However, I agree that someone can do something stupid or land in the ER. I'm sorry if you've felt I disrespected you and wish the best of luck in you're testing of various nootropic compounds.

We really don't have an issue with the idiots from the main subreddits coming by. They are happy creating pun threads and insulting each other on the other subreddits.

Myself and the other moderators are actually discussing that right now. Some people are interested in setting up group buys for a couple different substances. I'll probably stay out of the organizing, since my plate is fairly full at the moment. However, we could have a post to collaborate with you guys. The other moderators want to keep our role pretty objective, so we will probably not organize any group buys ourselves.
