Why do people think PRL-8-53 is magic? There is one study showing that they remember some words better than placebo, how is that life changing? Even a digit span of memory of 21, how will it change your life?

Having increased my digit span to 10-11 from a baseline of 7, I must agree. In my case, the cognitive training does not seem to have translated to any real-life benefits. Ah well, at least I did prove to myself I could increase my digit span and aspects of working memory, reaction time and extended concentration in specific situations significantly by training them (and possibly helped by nootropics and tDCS).

But there has been no transfer it seems, and my social skills seem to have taken a hit - at least it feels that way.

So now it is time to get serious with meditation and yoga instead.

Nothing helps social skills like an occasional snort of Oxytocin, in my experience. I'd still love to see tripled digit span.

No worries, izan82. Good luck with the prl-8-53 aarfai! I must learn how to write a pm well enough to be understand. I hope I can find another group buy on a novel nootropic to join, soon. I suspect PRL-8-53 would have been very good to research. There are years of research and sound anecdotal evidence as well, suggesting so.

Uhm, there is a year of research (well, 1 study), not years of research on it. :P

Umm, I supposed that would a good put down, if you were not so wrong. Hansl, NR; Nikolaus R. Hansl, Beverley T. Mead (1978). "PRL-8-53: Enhanced learning and subsequent retention in humans as a result of low oral doses of new psychotropic agent". Psychopharmacology 56 (3): 249–253. doi:10.1007/BF00432846. PMID 418433

Well, its an old substance. I don't know how many studies thought maybe only the one study in 1978. There is anecdotal evidence though from Durk Pearson. You know I can only find the one study by Mead.

Uhm, how is what I said wrong? There is one study (maybe 2, but from memory, there is just 1 from the 70's).

PRL-8-53 is really understudied with a few claims. I hope the claims are true, but they will most likely not be.

We should be getting things rolling quite soon. Just awaiting confirmation from a member. Below is what we should be doing so you all can get an idea of what to expect when we get the ball rolling.

Here is the update you have all been waiting for.
I am going to make this quick and to the point. (Have been very busy as of late)

The order with ScienceGuys supplier is being put into effect and the synthesis time is not very long.

We will have 55.5 participants at $80 each. 24 participants are already paid in from the original group buy therefore we will be adding
31.5 new participants (recall one person dropped out from the original group buy). This equates to 1.8g per participant: 360 doses based on a 5mg dosage in study.

I will be personal messaging persons who have already messaged me to reserve their spots to see is they are still in and to give them the URL for the PayItSqure page and passcode if they are still in.

Shipping will cost around $15.00 (hopefully less) to be paid in at a later date by all 55.5 participants. This is based on the NIS-189 groups buy average shipping cost of $14.50. Therefore, the total will be around $95.00 but recall the $15.00ish will not be due for a couple weeks.

If I am a minority can I count as the half person? Or are you just going to have one spot open for someone receiving half the amount of everyone else?

Like if you're a black or something? Either way, you gave me a good laugh! Still I hope you're joking on why you'd take the half part... That would be awkward

Yes, I am joking of course. I just think its strange to have 31.5 participants and that no one has really addressed this yet.

Because I believe it is for a very good cause and science must be done, if there were 1 or 2 extra shares and you were just short of a buy, I would jump in there and buy up the extra ones for you, just so the buy would go through and science could move forward. I'll buy anything down to a .1 share : ;) Cause I'm that kind of guy. Of course I'm joking, I'm only hoping there is 1 open spot left for me so I could have an opportunity to research this interesting compound.

I would definitely join the group buy just for the sake of trying it. Magic or not, we should try it before making a sound judgement shouldn't we.

Of course things such as heroin was also once considered as wonder drug and failed miserably because of side effects, but you can't deny that it is sometimes worth trying one of these.

So count me in

I would like to join. It may be great or not as good as expected. The difference between 7 and 21 digit memorization is staggering. If it is expanding working memory as part of this effect then it seems like it should affect intelligence measurably also. It should be explored.

Hey, just a thought. I wonder if newstarnootropics knows about this? I know that they are always interested in new compounds to invest in and would always take any suggestions for anything new.
