Had a friend generate two lists of 100 pseudorandom 6 letter words, with a 50-word sublist for each. Made two pills, one with 5mg PRL-8-53 mixed with baking soda, the other only baking soda.
On the first day, I took pill A and waited an hour. Then was studied 50 word sublist A for 5 minutes. At 24h after, I tried to pick out the 50 words on the sublist out of 100 item wordlist A. I correctly identified 21 of them.
After waiting another day, I repeated the procedure with pill B and sublist+wordlist B, again trying to pick out the words at t=24h. This time I scored 48.
I'll let you guess which one was placebo
Protip: Placebo does not result in 228% of baseline performance on memory retention
I'll have to repeat this study with larger doses, and larger wordlists/different datasets.
Edit: Should add this was still on 5mg Selegiline daily. This may be effecting results to some degree.
Should also add I ran tests on short term memory for digit retention. Scored 11 on placebo and 12 on PRL. Clearly I'm a high preformer, and clearly PRL isn't doing much if anything there. Had much better results with Sunifiram on improving digit retention.

Seriously 228% improvement on verbal recall does show the effectiveness of this compound or something else in this experimentation. Good job!

Wow, 3alarm, even your picture changed after this experiment, it must be something significant. What an improvement!.....I mean,,,your picture.
Seriously 228% improvement on verbal recall does show the effectiveness of this compound or something else in this experimentation. Good job!
It was a 128% improvement to be exact, 228% of baseline (but "just" 128% more than baseline).

How much did it cost to join the group buy and how much will you get?
(I know it's full a long time ago, just want to know)
I believe the initial price was $80 for 4g (Novochemy?), but I don't remember after the first company failed synthesizing it and we had to switch to another manufacturer.

Has anyone else tried this stuff alongside stimulants? It's fantastic, but I have to worry a bit about how healthy or sustainable it is. PRL 8-53 has rapidly become one of my favorite nootropics, but the fact that we still really don't know its long-term effects or even mechanism of action (as far as I know) is a bit unsettling.

I took 5mg PRL-8-53 sublingually/buccally about two hours ago (my third time taking it). Today I have also taken 15mg Adderall IR, some ALCAR and Lion's Mane, fish oil and a multi. I'm feeling extremely stimulated, much more so than when I take Adderall alone. I am feeling fantastic and I have been motivated to do a whole bunch of important and productive things today. What has been really cool is that I haven't even thought about them or doubted them; I have just put my mind on getting things done and then done them. I haven't felt any negative aspects of stimulation, except for a rapid heartbeat and high body temperature, which are normal for me on Adderall.

I wouldn't really call PRL 8-53 a nootropic. There is just too little information out there to say that. When you say that you are feeling fantastic, even better than Adderall alone, it brings the excitotoxicity question to mind. There is also potential neurotransmitter depletion and receptor downregulation. It is good to hear that you are enjoying the effects but paradoxically, the fact that you are enjoying it this much means that you should be more careful.

3Alarm is on the right track and I hope others will take note.
So heres my plan, feel free to critique it...
Me and a friend are both participating in this and will log our results. We will be filling up each others capsules with equal amounts of PRL-8-53 and placing the pills in random envelopes with a day of the week written on them. We will do this with pills of baking soda as well and then log what days have PRL and which days have baking soda. Now we will swap envelopes so the other person doesn't know when they will be taking a placebo or PRL-8-53 capsule. The goal is to have 5 days of placebo and 5 of PRL-8-53.
We will follow 3Alarms lead and use a list of 6 letter words ( http://www.easysurf.cc/list6.htm ) and each day at an exact time we will read a list of 50 words (maybe 2 or 3 times, any input?) and take a capsule. Exactly 24 hours later we will then try to pick out the 50 words we saw yesterday from a list of 100 words. After that we'll dose again, and store the list of the words we picked out of the 100 in a file (no grading until after 10 days)
Now my big question is... How long should we wait after dosing to read the daily list of 50 words? I don't know how long it takes to hit the "sweet spot" of PRL-8-53. I'd appreciate any input.
After the trial I will post all results on here and neither of us will take any supplements during this time except for caffeine.

How long should the long term effects last? For example, you take the supplement and you remember the things you learned for the first hour, or do the memory effects bleed into the rest of the day(s)?
From my understanding the effects shouldn't bleed over into the next day, but its been months since I read the results of the original testing so I probably should double check.

The original hansl paper states that they took placebo or drug 2-2.5 hours "before the time." Which is a weird sentence. But I'm assuming it means they waited 2 hrs post dose to take their word list test.

First you have to be a good boy or girl the whole year. Then you sit down and write him a nice letter. Address it to Santa c/o North Pole and drop it in the letter box. Finally you wait until 25 Dec (or 7 jan if you are in a orthodox country) and free delivery...don't forget to put out some milk and cookies for the delivery guy...Great news about the 8-53. I will get on it soon enough. So, what is the method of getting hold of the 8-147? Any body have Santa's phone number?

We have no clue on PRL-8-147, so we can't get it.

When administering this orally, do you allow it to dissolve under the tongue?
Originally, 5 mg doses were given orally (swallowed). However, sublingual administration (dissolving the compound under the tongue) is also possible.
