I just want to mention that phenylpiracetam works well with modafinil (or armodafinil). For safety reasons, please be extremely wary of adding other stimulatory or potentiating agents to this mix. I occasionally use just 50mg (half tablet) of Phenotropil and it works for several hours. I see it being sold at http://nootropic.ru....uct/phenotropil for less ($39 + $5.50 shipping from Russia) than it is sold at http://awakebrain.co...henotropil.html ($90 + $5.40 tax + possibly $10 shipping inside US).
How much modafinil or armodafinil are you consuming? I have placed an order for phenylpriacetam which should be here any day now...am consuming about 200mg of modafinil eod.

I consume 75-150mg of armodafinil as Nuvigil optionally with 50-100mg of phenylpiracetam as Phenotropil. I don't take them at the same time. I often take armodafinil in the morning and/or afternoon, and phenylpiracetam only in the evening. The latter drug does have some complementary nootropic properties, but I'm wary of taking it regularly due to cost and tolerance considerations.
I have also ordered phenylpiracetam, from nootropic.ru.com. They shipped it very fast from Yekaterinburg, Russia. I have been provided a valid tracking number which is trackable at russianpost.ru.

I have trouble determining how much a scoop weighs -- there are many ways to fill the scoop. Is it filled, compressed, and evened? Or a heaping scoop of loose, uncompressed substance?
Taking with citicoline.
For me, the effects are noticeable and productive but I have trouble sleeping even 12 hours later. The sleeping issue appears to be cumulative -- if you take it for several days in a row in the morning, you will have no issues sleeping at night. However, after awhile, I found that I could not fall asleep. Interestingly, even after tossing and turning all night, I felt fine the next day as if I had a somewhat productive night of sleep.
Very interesting substance. I think it has potential for certain uses.
Be careful with alcohol -- I had an odd experience. Alcohol is not very effective while on this, I found it to be uncomfortable.

Use a calibrated milligram or decigram scale, of course. There is no room for guesswork here.I have trouble determining how much a scoop weighs
Alcohol and numerous stims are like this, but excess alcohol will hurt your liver just the same.Be careful with alcohol -- I had an odd experience. Alcohol is not very effective while on this

"...bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors..."
Does that mean it should decrease cigarette or nicotine cravings...??

No, at best it might put a dent in your tolerance but it will do nothing in terms of decreasing cravings. Phenlypiracetam and nicotine simply both bind to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) as agonists. They have different affinities and binding profiles for nAChR and result in completely different effects.
Prolonged intake of nicotine can result in an nACh receptor upregulation: http://www.ncbi.nlm....les/PMC2728164/
Prolonged intake of phenlypiracetam will lead to a nAChR downregulation: http://link.springer...819712411020048
If nicotinic acetylcholine receptors were simple, and the mechanism of actions were as described in the two papers, theoretically the two could be used intermittently in an attempt to curb or reverse tolerance to either compound. However, nACh receptors are not simple and tolerance is much more complex of an issue than 'balancing' a neurotransmitter.

I'm curious about the increase in density of D1, D2 and D3 receptors found in the study mentioned on page one. Does that those receptors increased in density globally, or in specific regions? Or was the increase in density only observed in a particular part of the brain that was being examined in the study? Is there anyone with access to the paper itself that could clarify?

Hey I have been taking this stuff during work, 5 days a week, for about 3 months now. It is great for my job which involves a lot of physical labour. So far I really like the effects as it is far more stimulating than even aniracetam. I have noticed a bit of tolerance build-up recently though and am wondering how long should it take for tolerance to reset? I am thinking a week. Also, as a prescription drug, how do they handle tolerance? I would assume it is prescribed daily for example when used as a general stimulant.

How much do you take each dose, and do you take it more than one dose a day?
I also have been taking it five days a week recently at 100mg a day as soon as I wake up. Occasionaly if I'm anticipating a really heavy day I'll take 200mg.
I haven't noticed a tolerance yet, although I'm mindful of it since it's commonly reported.
