I apologize in advance for my horrid grammar.

I know/have known at least two dozen college students who make the Dean’s List every semester who have substantially poorer grammatical, spelling, and general rhetorical skills than you possess. There’s nothing to apologize for. Your command of the English language is substantially above average.

This has probably been asked a million times but there's a 1503 pages. How does NSI-189 compare to Wellbutrin and Tianeptine, respetively?

I can't speak on behalf of those taking the tianeptine but i'll share the perceived differences between Wellbutrin and NSI.

As far as I can tell Wellbutrin (which i take off-label for ADHD) gives me more energy and has improved my attention span and therefore long term memory. On the other hand NSI has reduced my anxiety and mood especially after recently cycling off. While on the NSI, as others have reported, you might see an increase in axiogenic thoughts and you might get some OCD-like thought patterns (thought loops.) This is especially noticeable on initial dosing and might persist on through the rest of your cycle. Personally, the only increase of anxiety I noticed was during the initial two weeks. Thereafter I noticed a reduced amount of anxiety that seemed to plateau and this trend held up until I ended my cycle. Paradoxically, after I finished my cycle I've been experiencing reduced levels of anxiety, in comparison to before and during the 1 month cycle. I've also retained the improvements to memory which I addressed in my review and feel great. I've been able to give "honest laughs" and have in general found things that I've previously rolled my eyes at entertaining.

tl;dr Wellbutrin is good for attention and mood. NSI excels at continuous improvements on memory and general feelings of well being.

I appreciate the words of confidence. My weakest subject, even though it's my first language, has always been English so I try to warn others so they will not judge me harshly on my command over syntax and grammar.

I only had anxiety with nsi189 when I had very short sleep and dosed when i woke up and didnt want to go to work. Alot of it was knowing i had to go to work, lack of sleep was a little bit. I can never sleep well the night before I work. I just pull a double shift to work around my school schedule.

Nsi189 allowed me to see when I was in an obsessive thought loop, and I could redirect myself way quicker and most of the time before I hit the loop. It also allows me to gain back my true inner monologue and true superego. For a while I thought my inner monologue and superego were the self reflective thought loops (and the negative loops where I obsessed about flaws in everything) I was forced to cycle through. It's allows me to keep more of a constant flow of thought and feeling content.

Thanks for your report . are you a person naturally anxious?

I feel that all drugs that provide an effect of "hyper vigilance" make me worse. I tend to be consciously listening to my body and my mind,, like a self awareness . The effect of this drug is like low dose LSD ?

Hmm.

I haven't tried LDLSD, but I've read some about it. There ARE certain similarities... "HD-vision" is one of them - strangely enough, I don't think I got HD-vision, I got HD-HEARING!! : O

For one evening, I actually experienced acutely enhanced aural capabilities - it was kind of freaky, because I was trying to go to sleep, with ear-plugs even, and suddenly I could bloody well hear everything outside - the wind howling, the house creaking.

VERY curious...! It seems to be the same effect which alters vision - however, I think it's not just related to ONE sense - but it seems to affect EVERY sense! The neuropathic pain - the tingling sort of sensation NSI-189 causes - that can be interpreted as enhanced touch-perception.

I wouldn't really say it's like LSD though - the acute effects are actually similar to several other drugs - stimulants, cholinergics, SSRI's, Wellbutrin, LSD, it's similar to all of them. Like taking ALL of them, but in extremely small doses, at the same time.

It's actually kind of freaky now that you mention it... How non-definable this drug is.

I would agree, I was pretty anhedonic so there was a definite change in percieving all senses, touch, sound, taste, smell. Sight wasnt more hd, it was I responded to visual stimuli more. Songs with manic baselines excite me. I follow the lyrics better because I now can mentally create a story to it.

Due to not getting accustomed with the (limited information) from the receipts of the new payment methods and a large number of requests the first days, I have not managed to connect every member with their tracking#. Anyone that has not received tracking and there is a delay receiving his envelope let me know, and I ll search for it.

It depends on the country. UK has a generalized ban for example. In germany its under AMG, so better dont pick it up but let it resend for another try cause its a grey zone and the customs decide what will happen.

I've been a lurker in this thread for a while, and I'm new to NSI-189 but looking forward to trying it. I apologize in advance since this has almost certainly been asked, but does it matter whether one takes it on an empty stomach or not? And are there any differences between the freebase and phosphate versions? Also, if anyone happens to know, how does it compare to Remeron (mirtazapine)? I recently just had to stop the latter because of unbearable fatigue, so I'm hoping NSI-189 doesn't have that as a side effect.

I didnt tolerate nsi. It gave me anxiety and I couldnt mix it with caffeine and Im addicted to coffee so I gave up on it. freebase is for sublingual usage and phosphate can

be taken orally.

What dose of remeron were you taking? Im day 3 on 30mg. I feel bloated.

Neuralstem phase 1b trial was conducted with nsi-189 phosphate on empty stomach(see https://www.ncbi.nlm...les/PMC5030464/). Although a user on this forum named MizTen took it with food.

What dose of remeron were you taking? Im day 3 on 30mg. I feel bloated.

I see; Is the freebase absorbed worse than the phosphate if it's ingested? I figured I should take 40mg each morning before breakfast if possible, and hold it in my mouth for like a minute (to absorb it sublingually) before swallowing.

As for mirtazapine, don't get me started, but I was on 20mg once a day.... Honestly, it worked extremely well at first, in a way other antidepressants hadn't. I felt absolutely wonderful, depression-wise. It completely negated my insomnia (too well, as I'd realize), and it seemed to free me from these OCD-like thoughts my mind seems to get stuck in. I realized how horrifically depressed I actually was for such a long time; it even seemed to start to counteract problems with anhedonia I have.

After a little over a month, however, its drawbacks became more apparent. The apparent benefits, especially on my OCD-like symptoms, become less and less pronounced and the fatigue, the main problem for me, became increasingly intolerable. I became so drowsy I had trouble getting up in the morning and simply felt like lying down during the day if I could. As a result of the fatigue, I had problems with getting things done, and I realized I had to stop when I was less productive after at least 10 hours of Remeron-induced sleep than I was just dealing with horrible insomnia.

In addition to the somnolence, I also starting developing anxiety issues and felt stressed out in general. I'm not sure how much of this anxiety was directly because of the drug; I think in my case for example, , it might have been at least partly because I try to exercise pretty vigorously for several hours during the week in addition to staying pretty active in general, which itself keeps a certain amount of stress and anxiety at bay, and the drowsiness made this much more difficult, and so I felt physically awful in general upon becoming much more sedentary than I was previously.

I can see now why it's not immensely popular, because of the drowsiness and hunger it induces. Maybe you'll have better results than I did, however, and I understand it's also supposedly less sedating at higher doses.

Okay cool thanks. Im going to stay on 30 for a month or so and see if the bloating and tiredness goes away. (I like the sleeping on it tho!) For NSI you d be better off using the freebase as sublingual as you can get the same results as phosphate and at a lower dose. ex 40mg phosphate = 20mg sublingual. Id suggest using a smaller dose to start with and see how your body reacts to it. Although it seems to be well tolerated for most and beneficial their still are a minority that have experienced shitty side effects so better to start low and slow. So if your an nsi responder freebase and phosphate are both effective. I would just try 10mg (20 at most) of freebase sublingually to start. With all new drugs their is always a risk.

Okay, thanks for the advice; I'll be sure to do that and build up gradually. And hopefully you'll have better luck with the mirtazapine than I did! I think I was just unusually sensitive to that drug's propensity to cause drowsiness.

Any guinea pigs want to weigh in on the interaction that NSI may have with cannabis? I've heard several negative accounts of this combination.

I have tried it twice, effects of cannabis were much more profound, laid in bed and listened to music and it was amazing, Almost had closed eye visuals, tons of thoughts, and the music was soul touching. I did not experience any negative effects afterwards. Nothing negative to report from my experiment. I tried alcohol twice too, gave me a headache and a worse headache the next day. I would suggest not drinking on it.

Green tea synergizes very well with nsi. One of my friends said EGCG in green tea also targets the hippocampus. We both have tried without the green tea and with it, we both agree motivation and a great mood are more present with green tea. We drank caffeinated green tea. This may baloney or maybe its the caffeine.

Also from my tests with coffee, coffee and nsi dont mix well for me, it makes me feel fatigued but relaxed (just off one cup). Funny how green tea caffeine and the coffee effects differ. (To give some prior information, before taking nsi I would drink 3-6 cups of coffee and still would not feel alert, just tight muscles and just the physical effect of my body being stimulated.)

Hi all.

I have been searching for ages for something to reverse, or at least treat, long term effects of a prescription acne medication that has been shown to reduce hippocampal neurogenesis and increase depressive behavior in mice. Bottom line is that I started that medication, and after a few weeks, I suddenly lost the ability to feel strong emotions, along with losing the ability to create vivid scenes in my imagination. This has been totally different than any bout of sadness I experienced before;  it is as if my former notion of the human soul was taken from me.

A few others who had similar side effects from the same medication I took have started popping up and claiming various degrees of success with NSI-189.

So, I began looking into it and noticed many people who have trialed NSI as an anti-depressant mentioned the return of strong emotions, to the extreme in some cases, and feeling contentment from life again.

Imagine my surprise after also reading that NSI-189 promotes hippocampal neurogenesis in mice, an effect contrary to what is suspected of the drug which put me in this condition.

There appear to be a handful of theories about how this new antidepressant works. I'm curious to see if it increases neurogenesis via induction of neurosteroid synthesis, in a manner similar to that of many SSRIS, minus the effects on serotonin re-uptake. We probably won't know for sure until the patent holder releases information about MOA.

This is highly provisional (n=1 and all that), but ginseng and pregnenolone seem to enhance the effects of MSI, which would seem to be consistent with a steroid hypothesis of action.

Are you talking about Roaccutane? I've used it as well, I do not regret it at all since my acne got cured all the way. I do feel nootropics/nsi could help you with this :)

Welcome to the club. I have the same issues as well, even when I'm not depressed in the typical sense. I've only been taking it a week, so it's a bit early to tell if it's a promising solution in my case.

I've been using NSI-189 since 10th September and stopped 5th November because the benefits have plateaued off and I want to move onto my next experiment (which is the lovely memantine and semax armidate).

NSI-189 has been really amazing when it comes to levelling out my mood and self talk (can recognise and nip negative thought loops out quickly), not feeling excessively down when things don't turn out the way I expect, and also being more open and social in general. Even went out on 2 dates during this time lol.

The anxiety that I had before hand was taken care of really well by 1.5g of MagT (thanks Stinkorninjor!), 12.5mg tianeptine sodium when I get up.

When I had exams 50mg modafinil was my bae when it came to helping me lots with my crazy study/work schedule.

All in all, I am very pleased with how NSI-189 has helped me and I'll be sure to cycle back onto it in a month or  really when I feel the need to go back on it.

As a side note, ut really is true that motivation does surprisingly increase motivation a LOT when NSI-189 is stopped. When there is a task to do instead of debating over this or that I just get on and do it without hesitation. My apartment is like amazingly spotlessly clean haha.
