i use nsi189 once a year for a month and something - ideally to counter a bit of chronic anhedonia and accutane induced hippocampal shrinkage + apoptosis - its been 4 or 5 years now
I was usually using strangeloves or intellimeds. wanted to try some new, less expensive sources, and the one i have now honestly is whack. i cant feel it working at 40mg, where usually im very sensible at 30mg already - i wont make names, but its in sweden.
Ive now ordered from the US and waiting for it to arrive, cant wait to test the difference. anyway im digressing, but it was for you to put my opinion into context.
My impression is: this stuff definitely does something, but it is not something that helps everyone. The first time i took it i was in a very bad mental state already and this stuff made me so emotional i literally felt emotional pain 24/7.
I also think it is reputed as ineffective because the assessments are made on old depression scales built to sell TCAs. We all know there are very different types of depressions, i think this particular substance helps for the lethargic, anhedonic one.
If you're feeling manic or melancholic, stay away from this.

Sublingual NSI-189 [science.bio lot 200106-0513] (20-40 mg / day) with Pinealon [rupharma.com series 05 date of production 04.2020] (oral capsule 1x or 2x day) (occasionally emptied the contents of the capsule under my tongue rather than dosing orally) for somewhere in the region of twelve days seems to have "normalized" me to a degree.
Still experiencing some level of psychotic detachment, which may be due to singular doses of memantine, Noopept, Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds during the course.

Hi everybody, so I've been taking NSI-189 for 32 days now for general depression induced cognitive impairment/anhedonia(going for a run of approximately 12 weeks/84 days like in the trial, then I'll go off and see if the benefits last) and I figured I'd just put down my experience.
The substance in question:
NSI-189, 40mg twice a day, put into size 4 capsules with a capsule filler.
Other medications/supplements:
Prozac 40 mg (depression/anxiety)
Abilify 5 mg (along with the Prozac for depression)
Vitamin D 5000 IU (General health)
Glucosamine/Chondroitin (previous Zoloft usage somehow gave me arthritis in my knees despite me only being 23)
Nootropics Depot Tongkat Ali 10% (energy/etc)
Occasional usage of prescribed Adderall, 10mg (ADD)
So far:
Week 1: Felt kind of strange, kind of varied day per day, and felt almost as if it was a stimulant of some kind but not quite. Felt "alert" in a way I haven't felt in years but not in an intrusive way. I find I'm significantly more immersed in music. slight headache.
Weeks 2 & 3: Might as well combine the two weeks, I felt incredibly lethargic(strictly mentally without feeling depressed even, it was just unusually hard to initiate activities, but could continue if I could get myself to start), very likely this wasn't the NSI-189, but rather due to a short cessation of the Abilify by me and my psychiatrist, in an attempt to figure out if that's what was causing the weight I gained over the last two years, for reference I'm 290 pounds, used to be 230. The sensation of "alertness" remained despite the lethargy/lack of motivation, and during the times I did get myself to practice, I retained significantly more information than usual, and didn't suffer from my usual working memory issues as much. Additionally, recalled a large amount of childhood memories somehow.
Week 4: Resumed Abilify under supervision by psychiatrist, lethargy rapidly vanished. Unusually, the stimulated/wired sensation from Adderall has been blunted significantly, while the general focus remains, and at least for me this makes it much more pleasant to use(not a fan of that feeling) Additionally, I've noticed that it's way easier to put ideas together, make jokes during conversations, and do basic math, which I struggled with for a while. Slight pins and needles in my toes when I'm falling asleep at night.
Summary: In general, it seems to live up to what it's supposedly supposed to do, as a potential adjunctive treatment for depression/cognitive impairment. I'm not elevated beyond "baseline" as of now, but returned to what I feel is my normal self to a degree, fascinating stuff. However, I don't know how much of this is placebo, considering how much I've read about the substance, but it's a pretty noticeable difference. There's probably some other effects that I'm forgetting to type down here, but these are the major things that have happened. Not the best example due to the whole Abilify thing shaking up the results, but it's here.

I was cleaning my house today, when I found a couple of bags containing a few compounds, that I stashed there at some point, but forgot about it (but a few items I thought I had lost, were found again!).
So there's the relevant point, among the stash sat an unopened NSI-189 Freebase 1 gram bag, from July 2017 (checked Longecity private messages with seller),
that I bought from the beloved, and never forgotten Longecity member, Strangelove (RIP).
Was stored in an opaque container, at room temperature the whole time.
Does anyone know what the shelf-life of NSI-189 Freebase would be?
I've browsed through this whole thread, and the forum at large, but info is scarce on the subject.
I suppose shelf-life of the freebase might be shorter than the phosphate form, for example.
