Heh, I rather like the closing remarks, about oscillating between 20 and 25 -- sounds nifty and comfy to me.

Then all we'll need to top that off is to reduce the human fertility rate, so that our immortal population won't overbreed to the point of destroying the planet!

Why not use technology that will make it possible to build (grow) ISLANDS in EXOSPACE. Tha Lagrangian Liberation Points would be a good location for humankinds first off planet settlements.
Remember, the idea is not to move to other planets, but use a location with 24/365 days sunshine and choice of gravity.
