“To those millions in India neem has miraculous powers, and now scientists around the world are beginning to think they may be right. Two decades of research have revealed promising results in so many disciplines that this obscure species may be of enormous benefit to countries both rich and poor. Even some of the most cautious researchers are saying that ‘neem deserves to be called a wonder plant.’ ”
Since its publication 15 years ago, an enormous amount of research has been completed in laboratories and universities around the world. We’ll be the first to admit that modern research hasn’t always supported neem’s “healer of all ailments” moniker. Still, considering the wide variety of disorders where researchers can detail positive results – combined with the fact that it has few side effects – results of this ongoing research probably surpass the expectations of the people who called it a wonder tree 15 years ago..."

Thx renfr.
The little reading I have done says to be very carefull of internal use.
Perhaps this depends on the type of extract used?

The study you linked was done by J.J.M. Medical College Davangere, India..?

I found this info while looking for anti malerials and bug repellant and will stick to topical use, if any, untill I have done further research.

Neem oil is the dangerous part but other parts like the leaves are also used for benefits and don't contain the oil.

Lately I've been using Himalaya brand Neem extract to treat skin issues and it also gives me very healthy feeling.

I've earlier made a thread about the anxiolytic properties of Neem leaf:

As far as I am aware, neem oil is not banned in the UK. I regularly purchase it???

I have found neem to be absolutely fantastic for UTI's and fungal infections. Nothing else would work. Unfortunately, I also suffer from anxiety and sometimes worry myself sick that I might get heavy metal toxicity from it due to overuse. I literally drank neem tea for months, buying the loose powder from an asian grocery store down the road from where I live. It was so cheap compared to the encapsulated products available online.

Indian Plant Could Play Key Role in Death of Cancer Cells
http://www.scienceda...30214092351.htm

Gedunin is one of the active components of Neem. Basically, it can inhibit heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) in a way that is superior to currently available Hsp90 inhibitors.
