Ive been through the child stage, Teenager and now I am a young adult. I made it through without getting obese so far!

But a lot of kids are falling for these products with spider man or their favourite super hero picture is on it. The other day when I went along shopping and my nephew came with us. As I was buying all my 'healthy food' he was totally fixed on trying to get hold of all the chocolate and crisps that had his fave super hero's on and he ignored the dull packaging. Clearly this an obvious problem that should have been sorted out a very long time ago.

By just observing around friends and family, I cant help notice how they dont care for their health at all. A typical meal involves potato chips and some other crap. People seem to be totally ignoring the benifits of providing healthy diets to kids.

Today my Cousin james was at my house, Hes really intelligent for his age and has always been extremely bright person. Although unfortunatly his parents are feeding him McDonalds almost every day. Hes not fat yet.. But I can see him getting bigger. I spoke to him about omega 3 for kids. I told him what it does and his reply was " if I become more intelligent all my friends will think i am a snob and call me names " Which can be quite true. but this is the kind of thinking we need to get rid of. I can understand he is still a kid, around 9. Hes probably the smartest little kid ive ever come across. Learns things quite fast. But could his poor diet be restricting him to his full potential.

I just caught the end of a programm on here in the UK. Its about a few boys that are on extremely bad diets and how its linked to behaviour. They are showing the follow up on friday I believe of how they are acting now and how improved their concerntration is after being put on a healthy diet with all required nutrients. Just a few weeks ago they were having around 100 + tea spoons of sugar a day ! . It wasnt suprising why they are having probs at school.

Anyway, The follow up apparently shows a marked improvement. Hopefuly this study will wake some people up. Its a serious problem and I am guilty of eating crap when I was younger, although not as regular as kids usually do.

heres somthing on bbc about marketing products aimed at children http://news.bbc.co.u...lth/4486923.stm
