I have been on piracetam for roughly a week and a half. My doses are following the thread which theorizes you need 9.6g of piracetam daily. Well either way I am lazy and just ballpark my dosage. I take one leveled out teaspoon , 4 - 5g approximate? with 250mg CDP Choline.

I take the 4 - 5 g upon waking up with no protein in stomach and with choline

if time permits i take another 4 - 5g in the PM

There are times I feel incredibly confident and capable of anything, feel like my vision is amazing and other times where i try and talk and my speech will slur and an accent will break out, not even an accent of my ethic origin, it is becoming more frequent as well and it worries me

side note: I took piracetam about 7- 8 months before it also made me feel a little slow ..800mg doses multiple times

took noopept at 15mg around 4 - 5 months ago or so

I know I will probably be told to ramp the doses down, it just seems like the 800mg doses do not possess much effect...just realized another side of piracetam

my typing speed, my unconscious knowledge of letter positions have suffered, I actually have to look at the keyboard sometimes now when before it was second nature, not very descriptive but it's what you would call something, you must experience to believe

edit: strange accent might just be slurred speech...

I am the same way on piracetam it seems to slow me down and slurs my speech, Other times I feel as if i am on top of the world. I have been taking it for over a year and i am going to be drooping it soon or at least see what happens when i stop taking it. Have you tried any of the other commonly available racetams they are much better. I would not recommend pramiracetam for daily use though it gives many a zombie like effect. Also what is your current stack?

It could be a problem unrelated to piracetam, yet caused by it, such as a protein or calorie shortage in your body/brain. When you're on piracetam, especially at high/er doses, your caloric consumption and protein consumption goes way up as your brain metabolism does, and this includes your metabolic water consumption.

I experience all those same effects if I don't keep my body fueled with what it needs when I am taking Piracetam, or other enhancing supplements for that matter.

Also, just throwing this out there, there is no 'optimal' dosage for piracetam. Higher doses are going to give you heightened effects. Many people say there is a bell curve with Piracetam, though, if you take Fish Oil, at a gram to gram basis, with your Piracetam(20g fish oil for 20g piracetam) then you will notice there is no bell curve. It is more like a linear rise. The more you take, the greater the effects. Taking Fish Oil with Piracetam also gets rid of most, if not all, negative effects of Piracetam such as headaches. It should also be noted that the substances in Fish Oil can be converted into acetylcholine so another choline source is not required.

Could you provide a reference or some further reading on this? It's the first time I've heard about this and I'd like to look into it.

As supported by the research, isn't 4+ grams per dose supposed to be what was found as optimal? The results were dose dependent, meaning, the higher the doses (upto a 20g/day total), the better effects exhibited cognitively.

Could you be more specific? Not sure what you're asking for. It's pretty common knowledge that Piracetam enhances brain metabolism.

I think the quoted post he's referring to states "consumption", and could be clarified by stating requirements (from how I understood your post). Meaning, if one is taking piracetam thereby increasing the metabolic requirements of the brain, the brain (like the body) would be best served with adequate caloric consumption and specifically protein which you've stated in your first sentence...I'd imagine low glycemic complex carbohydrates would also assist in this since they are what the body prefers to use to fire that metabolic furnace (among other macro nutrients). I think he's looking for sources that state something along the lines of side effects of piracetam being negated by adequate caloric/water intake. Or, more simply, enhanced brain metabolism/activity is best served when one meets it's requirements for energy through good nutrition. An example could be seen with the use of moderate doses of piracetam over time without the inclusion of a choline source to replenish ACh. One will experience side effects like headaches. It stands to reason that, like a muscle in the body that is repeatedly trained, will only regenerate itself (repair & strengthen) itself by providing it with the nutrients it needs to do said task(s). Much like the brain, when exposed to stressors/demands/stimulation (whether mental/physical stress, environmental, compound-driven), it will only function optimally (as in, without adverse events) if it's given the proper nutrients to perform said task. Forgive me in advance if I also misunderstood.

I do a lot of research myself through experimenting. Just having a basic understanding of biochemistry and how some of these supplements work, along with a little trial and error can help you come to a applicable theory.
