I am pleased to announce a LongeCity Now interview with Preston Estep, Director of Gerontology and Adviser to the Personal Genome Project. Wiki Page.

Dr. Estep earned his PhD in Genetics at Harvard and conducted doctoral research under George Church at the Harvard Medical School.

He name became more well-known in anti-aging circles due to his sharp criticism of the SENS approach to curing aging, however, this should not be taken as a stance against life extension in general. Dr. Estep recently founded Telome. a company that hopes to build a business testing the length of telomeres.

As always, any questions for Dr. Estep are greatly appreciated.

The interview is tentatively scheduled for 1pm Eastern on Wednesday April 24th (but it is not 100%)

One question would be what are his thoughts on SENS today? He may have evolved from the position he took five years ago.

Another would be what are his views on the role of telomere lengths in aging and human health? How does it rank compared to all the other factors we know about? As much as Bill Andrews seems to think?

Has he evaluated any of the telomerase activators to see if they work in humans?

How accurate and reproducible is the methodology they use at TeloMe?

What does he anticipate will be the cost for a telomere length test using their methodology?

I was able to ask all of the questions submitted. He has changed his tune quite a bit about SENS. Some good information about telomeres and telomerase inducers as well.
