lostfalco, maybe you've already done this, but could you please provide some hard data if you got any? By that, I mean before and after test scores on IQ tests, cambridgesciences tests, Dual N-back or any of the sort. The reason I'm asking is, because I've kind of lost faith in people's subjective opinions when it comes to nootropics.
Hey Megatrone, what's up man? I hope this massive post doesn't sound defensive or anything...I just have a lot of info to share. =) Here goes.
Your request is a completely fair one...so it pains me to say that I don't have that sort of data on myself. As I've been saying for quite some time now, I am currently engaged in 'scientifically inspired anecdote'. I am NOT engaged in science (despite my love for the scientific method/measurability/quantification/falsification, etc.).
Reason 1: The past 2+ months (the time I've been on TULIP) have been an extremely busy 'transition' period for me...job change, move, etc.
Reason 2: I started LLLT 8+ months ago...pretty much on 1/1/2013.
Reason 3: I don't want to 'wash out', return to baseline, and start over again. The results of LLLT are cumulative and I feel too good to want to start over. I know...VERY unscientific.
Reason 4: Subjective 3rd person accounts from family and friends indicate I'm not making this up (too much, at least. ha). My parents, my siblings, my gf, my best friend, my extended group of friends, etc. have all noticed a massive difference AND they keep asking me about it. You should have seen the look on my mom's face when I told her that I shoot a laser at my brain every other night. Classic. ha
Reason 5: Other people have sent me their data since starting TULIP...it's pretty damn impressive and correlates strongly with my experience. If they want to post it, I wouldn't complain. =) However, I totally understand the need/desire for privacy. No pressure at all! For real.
Reason 6: Gwern and Nattzor are currently experimenting and quantifying their LLLT results. Stay tuned.
http://www.reddit.co...pplications_of/http://www.longecity...750#entry611077Reason 7: The Naeser study patients took a battery of tests while on LLLT alone and had some very impressive results. These are pretty much anecdotes, so take them as such. They were also elderly TBI patients...so ymmv.
http://dspace.mit.ed...le/1721.1/58558Reason 8: LLLT has a fairly plausible mechanism/mechanisms of action. This isn't ethereal piracetam or mysterious modafinil. Of course, it's not perfectly worked out, but it's better than almost anything else out there in the nootropic world.

Mitochondrial signaling is an information channel between the mitochondrial respiratory chain and the nucleus for the transduction signals regarding the functional state of the mitochondria...Experimental data about modulation of elements of mitochondrial retrograde signaling by the irradiation (mitochondrial membrane potential DeltaPsi(m), reactive oxygen species ROS, Ca(2+), NO, pH(i), fission-fusion homeostasis of mitochondria) are reviewed. The terminal enzyme of the mitochondrial respiratory chain cytochrome c oxidase is considered as the photoacceptor. Functions of cytochrome c oxidase as a signal generator as well as a signal transducer in irradiated cells are outlined." Please note the relation between mtDNA/mitochondria and nDNA. Please check out 'mitochondrial epigenetics' on pubmed and pay close attention to the relationship between mitos and the nucleus. Most people don't realize that we have two genomes and that our cells are ancient symbiotes (though you probably know this =)).

http://en.wikipedia....electric_effecthttp://en.wikipedia....Albert_EinsteinReason 10: Entropy/energy/thermodynamics/cosmic evolution/etc. all point to the idea that energy/ATP/mitochondria are the primary drivers of biological systems and should be the initial focus of any enhancement regimen. They are NOT the
whole story, but they are VERY fundamental. See Harvard astrophysicist Eric Chaisson's work for more info.

http://www.longecity...1887-lostfalco/Anyway Megatrone, I totally understand the desire for quantification and the initial skepticism when someone makes outlandish claims (like I have!). I've tried almost everything too and I know the frustration of time and money wasted. I def encourage critical thought and a reasonable approach. Check out the info and if you decide to experiment, please quantify better than I have! If you don't try it, no worries. =)
Kahneman is our friend here and I am very aware that I and my biased mammalian brain could be deceived/wrong.
