Too many to list!

Very nice, MindExplorer!

It sounds like you and I have had many similar experiences.

The reason I asked was just to make sure I didn't give a laundry list of answers (to your previous question about all my experiences) to someone who was just starting out.

Seeing as you are a very experienced nootropics user, I know you appreciate the value of an incremental approach and there is no reason for someone to take 14 things on day one.

Agreed with the concise summary of your findings and possible clear theories.

Here's a start. http://www.lostfalco...n-fog-two-step/

I tried to make it as simple as I could. =)

I hope it helps!

The TULIP and God Stack posts on my blog are also decent summaries for the time being.

Lostfalco,

So you had no problems getting your Ibudilast? I'm in the US too and don't want to drop $50 only for it to get picked off.

Hey Noricent, we've had some really interesting people on the thread over the years huh?

Thanks for the CoQ10 idea. I'll have to look into it.

I hope TULIP works well for you!

The adwords thing makes so much sense now. ha I've still never tried "Golden Tulip" LED arrays. They're still out there though!

So far so good. I seem to have some positive effects, although not conclusive. I also did intranasal insulin over the last 1-2 weeks.

My short term memory seems to be better and better. I remember long strings of numbers (like tracking numbers) after just one glance. My mood is much improved, but I think there is much room for improvement.

I'll give some more feedback after a month or so. I also have bunch of questions and suggestions (albeit should maybe stay private for now, pretty popular thread afterall), but I'll write more later when I have more time.

PS. I LOVE your approach of just wanting to better everyone, and having everything being a collaboration.

Very nice compilation of the information connecting brain fog to excessive chronic neuroinflammation lostfalco, definitely another eye opener. Thank you so much!

One of my concerns using Galantamine chronically is that I'm not sure if it will up-regulate our body's acetylcholinesterase production over time. Yet another factor holding me back from taking it everyday is that the minimal tablet size is 8 mg (I had a prescription), but I wanted to only take 4 mg. Because it's a tiny tablet, it's extremely hard to cut it in half. Also, because it's an extend release tablet, cutting it in half will convert it into immediate release. I feel that your 7mg x 2 dosage is a bit high, could you explain a bit on the rationale behind your dosage? Have you taken, and are you going to take Galantamine at this dosage long term, without a break on weekend?

Also, how does Galantamine compare with other cholinergic like CDP-Choline, Alpha GPC combined with ALC, in terms of reducing systemic inflammatory?

Thanks again!

Very cool. Thanks for the feedback Noricent!

I-Insulin is one of the few things that has been shown to be effective in young, healthy humans. It's a fascinating substance. Awesome that you've had good results so far. I love the stuff.

I'm a pretty big fan of collaboration. Still trying to figure out the best way to incorporate it into the blog. I don't want it to be "my" blog. I've got a few ideas but I just wanted to get it up and running to begin with.

Look forward to hearing your feedback in a month!

Thanks, cougar. I genuinely hope it helps some people. There are many other possible causes but inflammation seems to be a biggie and targeting the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway is a great place to start imo.

For galantamine dosing, the powder gives you more control. The little red scoop is about 4mg so that could be a good option for you. I started out with the powder but have been using the capsules lately for convenience sake. It looks a little weird at school when whip out a little red scoop shovel a strange white powder into my mouth. ha If they had 4mg capsules I would use those. Capping them myself is always an option but I'm a bit short on time.

I think galantamine is more effective than the others because you get acetylcholinsterase inhibition and positive allosteric modulation of A7 receptors. With that said, galantamine is still a bit of a blunt instrument. GTS-21 looks really interesting on the A7 agonist front as well. Definitely keeping an eye on that substance and the group buy here. A number of people have reported that it's the best noot they've tried and I'm not that surprised.

You're very welcome. =) Thanks for the feedback.

Galantamine having any impact on your sleep?

It doesn't seem to affect my sleep at all. I'm taking my last dose about 8 hours before bed and galantamine has a 7 hour half life so that could play a role.

Thanks Junk Master, I appreciate it!

I hope i-insulin works well for you. It should help a bit with neuroinflammation.

I linked this rodent study at the bottom of the brain fog post. http://www.lostfalco...n-fog-two-step/

Here is the abstract below.

I'll talk a lot more about intranasal insulin in coming weeks.

https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/24918340

Exp Neurol. 2014 Nov;261:610-9. doi: 10.1016/j.expneurol.2014.06.004. Epub 2014 Jun 8.

Intranasal insulin restores insulin signaling, increases synaptic proteins, and reduces Aβ level and microglia activation in the brains of 3xTg-AD mice.

Abstract

Decreased brain insulin signaling has been found recently in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Intranasal administration of insulin, which delivers the drug directly into the brain, improves memory and cognition in both animal studies and small clinical trials. However, the underlying mechanisms are unknown. Here, we treated 9-month-old 3xTg-AD mice, a commonly used mouse model of AD, with daily intranasal administration of insulin for seven days and then studied brain abnormalities of the mice biochemically and immunohistochemically. We found that intranasal insulin restored insulin signaling, increased the levels of synaptic proteins, and reduced Aβ40 level and microglia activation in the brains of 3xTg-AD mice. However, this treatment did not affect the levels of glucose transporters and O-GlcNAcylation or tau phosphorylation. Our findings provide a mechanistic insight into the beneficial effects of intranasal insulin treatment and support continuous clinical trials of intranasal insulin for the treatment of AD.

Just wanted to confirm lostfalco, did you take 2 x 3.5 mg, or 2 x 7 mg Galantamine?

No problem, cougar. If you get the capsules, then one 7mg capsule in the morning (with food) and one 7mg capsule (with food) halfway through the day for a total of 14mg for the day.

Relentless Improvement sells 4mg Galantamine capsules, but they are pricey. I bought one bottle because I wanted to gradually titrate to 16 mg per day.

This is a good idea cylack. Definitely start low and work your way up. Galantamine can cause issues if you go too high too soon.

Lostfalco, what are your thoughts on high frequency use of LLLT part of tulip? What I am thinking is the same total time, but spread over the day in 3-5 sessions?

Lostfalco, ignore this if has already been answered, but what about the heat coming off the 96 LED? I have the one everyone else seems to have and it gets a bit hot after 5-6 minutes. I've seen some people say don't do it but wanted your take.

Unless it's getting absurdly hot, a little bit of heat is no problem. Mine get warm too. I've used the 96 for 20+ minutes per spot with no problem.

Did you get better results doing 20+ minutes per spot versus shorter bouts(30+ seconds)?

20 minutes is much closer to the doses used in the studies but I didn't find the extra benefits to be worth the extra time. So, the answer is yes, it was slightly better but I'd recommend 1 to 2 minutes per spot and focusing on other enhancements with the extra time. I'd say Nattzor's results are a pretty good example of what 1 to 2 minutes per spot can do. https://www.gwern.net/LLLT

I was more thinking, do you speculate it might be better/worse/the same? I thought that spreading it out during the day might replicate the effects of the sun more?

It's definitely speculation but there have been studies (this one was a rodent model of TBI) where 3x daily was more effective than 1x daily. 14 times daily was worse than both but not worse than control. "In every case 1-laser Tx was effective compared to the appropriate sham treated control, while the effect of 3-laser Tx was best, and excessively repeated LLLT (14 laser Tx) had lost all its beneficial effect."

http://journals.plos...al.pone.0053454

A more recent rodent study complicates things a bit but 3x daily still looks pretty good (cp. to 14x daily). "We found the 14X group showed worse neurological function than the no-treatment TBI group at 2-weeks, but started to improve steadily during the next 6-weeks, and by 56-days were significantly better than the no-treatment TBI mice, but still worse than the 3X mice."  https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/26990361

Hey cylack, it took about two weeks. I checked back through my email and couldn't find a tracking number or email confirmation. How long ago did you order?
