How much is taken per serving? How many servings per day?

Neuralstem is in the third cohort of their Phase 1 trials (http://www.neuralste...-for-depression):

Dosing for the NSI-189 cohort trials: (http://clinicaltrial...uralstem&rank=1):
There will be 3 ascending cohorts. The first cohort will be administered 40 mg once daily (q.d). The second cohort will be administered 40 mg twice daily (b.i.d). The third cohort will be administered 40 mg three times daily (t.i.d).

Current Safety and tolerability:
"We are pleased to progress to the third and final cohort of this trial," said Karl Johe, PhD, Neuralstem Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer. "The efficacy endpoints are all blinded until the conclusion of the trial, but the safety and tolerability of the compound, through the increased dosage in the first two cohorts, remains excellent." - More at: http://investor.neur...icle&id=1809130

I'mn going to wait for the results. If there is little to no difference between 40mg once daily and thrice, then I think the more I can pull out of the compound the better.

Here's the summary update for the 2nd Group buy:
35 users want a total of 303 grams
36 other users have indicated interest, but still need to add their desired amount

The target for the order is 1000 grams would would get $32/gram pricing from ScienceGuy's manufactuer who made the first batch.

To add/change your desired amount, join the group buy, or see if your in, please visit: http://www.longecity...si189-groupbuy/

A logistics question: If we get enough interest to put in an order for $32,000 (1000 grams), how can payments be handled safely so no one gets scammed? I haven't followed group buys before, just throwing this out as an idea:

Have a very trusted person collect the payments (in some escrow system perhaps), send them to ScienceGuy who orders the 1000g and tests it for purity. Then SG ships 1000grams to another trusted Longecity member who distributes to individual participants. ScienceGuy has show impeccable integrity and his involvement would add credibility that any 2nd group-buy ancedotes are results from pure NSI-189.

Put me down for 3 grams. It feels good to be part of something as revolutionary as the nootropics community.

SG has not agreed to purchasing anything (it's just an idea). Vlk posted "We have a quote from ScienceGuy's lab of $32000 for 1kg, with 8 weeks lead time."; so all we're doing at the moment is surveying interest to see if a group buy for that amount/price point is feasible. If there's enough interest to move forward there would still be more work with coordinating logistics, etc.

I'm just trying to help get things organized for the next group buy, so it can move forward smoothly when it does happen.

Hi, good catch. Your in the group buy spreadsheet for 2.5 grams. The spreadsheet has the most up-to-date information about whose in and how much they want:

I'm up for 20-25 grams, but only and only if the first trial gives any hint of significant memory improvement. There's no point in placing this order before all the participants of the first trial have posted their results at the end of the trial.

That amount should only be necessary if NSI-189 does not provide permanent results. If it doesn't, 20-25 grams wouldnt last you more than a few years I'd imagine.

What are your plans?

As a heads up, some active members of the Reddit nootropics community have just started their own nootropics company: http://ceretropic.com/ (thread with details: http://www.reddit.co...eretropiccom/ )

They will initially be re-investing 100% of their profits back into custom synthesis so new novel compounds
like GLYX-13 and IRDA-21 will become affordable. (BTW, at the time of this posting they have COLURACETAM in limited supply with more expected later).

Here's their response about getting NSI-189 synthesized:
"I'm really glad you mentioned NSI-189. For the past 3 months or so I have been incredibly interested in this compound and it's one of our top priorities. We have devised a way to get it manufactured for a commercially viable price from a reputable company.
Expect NSI-189 before GLYX-13, but we also have a couple new products coming within the next few weeks too. We will continually be updating our site, so check back with us our sign up with us and we'll email our customers only when new products come in or we are having a promotion."

Seems like going with a trustworthy vendor would be a lot more convenient than managing the logistics for a $32,000 group buy. Thoughts?

Legality....profiting from sale would be illegal. Better to stick to group buy.

Maybe they're getting around that by putting 100% of the profits back into synthesis. They are already selling Coluracetam, which would be similar to selling something like NSI-189. Supporting them could also help make other products they're planning for more generally available like: CGP-7930, GLYX-13, Pozanicline, and IDRA-21.

For those who think the group buy would be best, it would be worthwhile brainstorming logistic details. How will we safely handle transferring $16,000 (current amount of interest) - $32,000 to the product purchaser without the risk of losing our money? The last buy was done using PayItSquare. What type of protection would that provide?

Coluracetam is off-patent so you can sell it openly. NSI-189 is fresh, so production, distribution and marketing in US (and any other country where they pay for patent) without license is illegal.

I'm not going to use all that myself. I also want my closest family to have an improved memory / cognition if possible.

Pfffff, did you check their International shipping costs? I really think you should...

I was interested in their sublingual Noopept, until I found out that shipping would be nearly $90 - the noopept itself is only $20.

Same as Paypal, I reckon. Meaning you 'should' be able to get your money back if someone decides he'd reather spend it on the Bahama's instead. ;)

However, don't pin me on that, because $32.000 is a lot of dough, not sure if Paypal covers that much. On the other hand, we are all individual buyers, so maybe their insurance would still apply in this case.

I think they are basically US only at this point, with the hope of doing international shipping soon:

"We were planning on doing international shipping right out of the gates, but due to an unforeseen problem with mail carriers and international shipping, we have to hold off international orders for a short time until we can find a way to rectify the situation. We're working on it and I apologize for any inconvenience."

So hopefully when they do officially offer it, it will be at a reasonable price...

Let's hope so... Not sure if that info is still valid though, because the price came up during check-out. Carrier is UPS, which is one of the worse choices anyway. Terribly expensive and notorious (at least in my country) for the fact that they send every package through customs, so they can charge extra for that too. I never use them if I order something from the US.

Coluracetam is off-patent so you can sell it openly. NSI-189 is fresh, so production, distribution and marketing in US (and any other country where they pay for patent) without license is illegal.

When the vendor was asked about legality of selling NSI-189 on their intro thread, one owner replied: ""that's why we love loopholes my friend." Seems that's the same legal basis for getting the first batch of NSI-189 custom synthesized and distributed to participants across the world (including the USA); each participant was buying the compound for personal research.

The novel anti-depressant compound GLYX-13 (which can have an anti-depressant effect in 20 minutes that last up to 2-weeks), is patented by Naurex until 2030 (http://www.prnewswir...-217569641.html); yet an apparently unrelated manufacturing company Tocris is selling the compound for $115 per MG! (http://www.tocris.co...42#.UhOgn-aJB-M) Of course, they could have some license arrangement with Naurex but it isn't obvious, maybe the're using the same loophole.

Personally, unless Neuralstem or a sub-licensee is selling the compound (and unfortunately I don't think there is any source at the moment), I have trouble seeing how any vendor would be more legal than another.

Just dreaming here, but it would be great if research companies provided a way people could buy these products for early testing. That way they would get free safety data, people would have a legitimate source, and there wouldn't be any need to use legal loopholes.

Hello gentlemen,

I'm Jason (Guacamolium over at reddit.com.) I'm also the founding co-owner of ceretropic.com. The other co-owner is a moderator at reddit.com/nootropics and /stackadvice. His name is Paul, and his username on reddit is mryouaresodumb. We made a few snafoos when it came to launch (like the preposterous international shipping prices for instance.)

So we switched mometarily to USA only orders, and even held Coluracetam for a few people that are overseas that felt left out until we can optimize the international shipping process for our customers.

We both mutually decided that to reinvest 100% of the profits back into company for the time being will expand the nootropic movement by introducing improved ligands hat have been sitting idle for quite some time, and paying for NMR testing standards to compounds that don't already have them, which is expensive but allows not only us to do COA's on things like Coluracetam, but for our competitors to have the option to do so as well.

I'm not worried about the concerns over NSI-189. We anticipated that the issue would come up upon somebody mentioning it, and without going into details - we've already got it covered.

Also, I wish you guys luck on the group buy! Sounds awesome and it'll give you a taste of NSI-189 and what stacks with it before it goes down in price.

Best regards,

Jason
