I know a lot of people make fruit/veggie smoothies. They say it's better than juicing because you still get all the fiber and it's the same as eating the food, you're just drinking it instead.

I've also heard people say that it's not necessarily good the way some people do them because you're getting much more fruit and veggies than you would normally, so it's kind of like megadosing just with natural foods.

Well, you can sure suck down a lot of fructose in a hurry, if you're so inclined. There are some foods and spices you can megadose on- Brazil nuts, for example. (Selenium) If you are sensible about what you put into a smoothie, then it should be fine.

Too much of anything can be bad for you. It's the truth. Certain vitamins have been shown to be bad for you if you take too much, others will give you a headache and there are no reports of it in nutritional literature. I wouldn't eat too many of them. Just enough to get meet the food pyramid guidelines.

I see where people go on 60 days of green smoothies alone for weight loss.

You can get more sugar than is good. Also, in Chinese medicine cold food or drink isn't good for you and too much raw food would be imbalancing. If you want to O.D. on something, try eating vegetables as food several times a day including steamed greens once a day. It's hard to go wrong there and it will make you healthier.
