I've been taking aniracetam for a couple weeks now and I've been wondering about the ideal way to take it. Since aniracetam is fat soluble I always take a pill of fish oil, eat breakfast/lunch, then throw 750mg straight into my mouth right after eating. However, some people say that they mix the aniracetam with some olive oil (resulting in a gross paste) or preferrably whole milk, coconut milk, or MCT oil. Is this necessary to achieve the full benefits of aniracetam or can I keep taking the powder without mixing it into some fat-containing liquid? Or could I just pour it into some orange juice even though it wouldn't dissolve very well? Any advice would be appreciated

I've never heard that it's necessary to actually take Aniracetam with oil just because it is fat-soluble.

I *do* take it with olive oil sometimes, but that's when I'm not taking it with food. As far as I know, taking
it with wood with any reasonable amount of fat in it should be perfectly fine.

Rice cakes won't do, for example. ;) Most other foods should be fine.

Awesome, I figured just with food would be enough but someone was saying that he mixed it into olive oil then capped it so it got me wondering. Thanks

I was taking Ani. with whole milk everyday. This took me about five minutes just to mix (break up the clumps). I got smart, bought a capping machine (The capsule Machine) off of Amazon and now just take with my breakfast in the morning. That mixing w/ milk just sucks. If you cap Choline CDP into a size "0" capsule, you'll have about 250 mg per capsule (providing that you tamping tool). I weighed on a calibrated mg scale at work. I find that I get about the same result as taking with whole milk, but now I don't get pimples, and don't gain weight :)

Yeah I've definitely considered capping it myself but all my other nootropics/supplements are capped already (Swanson brand) so I'm fine with taking it straight. Also, Aniracetam powder doesn't taste bad at all so that's a plus. Nice profile pic btw, gotta love that old school Simpsons

It's not necessary to mix it with oil or another fat source for oral administration. While Aniracetam needs a lipid in order to be properly absorbed, you can take the powder (or a capsule) at the same time as milk or food and that will work just as well.

Remember if you're taking it on a full stomach that will slow down the absorption and increase the time before it becomes effective. I prefer to take it with milk on an otherwise empty stomach for this reason.

What I don't understand is why there is this idea going around that if a supplement is fat soluble, it means you have to take it with fat. Won't your stomach just absorb it regardless? It's not like something like kava kava, where the fat soluble actives are contained within the plant and you're trying to extract them out before ingesting. Is the idea that you have to take it with a fat because it will deliver it faster to your body in this case? But why would you want to deliver it faster? I was always confused about this. Though admittedly I used to mix nefiracetam with coconut milk to try to get a better effect, and i think it worked and it was stronger, but maybe it was just placebo.

Regardless, I agree with the woman above me about taking it on an empty stomach (and with a fatty drink like milk if you are a milk drinker). Seems to be sound advice if you're trying to get the effect from the get-go. I'm not sure about the pharmacokinetics of aniracetam but I could imagine a full meal getting in the way... (but maybe you should research that)
