I was browsing through some threads and found a post where someone said that apple cider vinegar (ACV) is contaminated with aflatoxin ( the nasty carcinogenic toxin produced by Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus). It was an old (and moldy?) thread. Does anyone know of any published research to back this claim?

What about other vinegars, e.g., balsamic, rice wine, white?

I've been taking ACV for my heartburn/acid reflux problem. I was skeptical of this home remedy since tomato sauce, citrus juice, and other acidic foods/drinks make my symptoms worse, but ACV seems to help. Anyone have a theory as to why?

I have read that apple juice is clarified by extract of black mold enzimes, which are able to broke pectin.
