So I have an interesting issue on my hands and I feel like I should employ some intelligent help from you forum members... I recently suffered a severe concussion and have lasting side effects - sedation, fatigue, general slowness - I'm just not myself. I'm having a hard time putting memories together and using long term memory not short-term memory.
I've been KO'd before but this time was a pretty hard impact - enough to fracture a bone... I have a history of fights and can say if I hit someone as hard as I was hit I would actually have been worried and called 911 for them.
I'm wondering if I need to modify my nootropics at all, if there is any medication I could start taking - any new dose I could try - I have NMDA antagonists(like memantine), plenty of piracetam, noopept, choline, and a bit of phenylracetam. I've never had issues even with insane doses of noopept up to 300mg so I'm willing to try anything really. I have enough for at least of a month regimen of piracetam, phenylracetam, noopept and any other medication I've listed. I'm prescribed Dronabinol - THC - which is supposed to be neuroprotective but 40mg will only do so much and I'm not a stoner, at least not anymore so I don't smoke weed as well. I have a doctor that literally will write anything if I can prove its a legitimate use hence the dronabinol and multiple GABA-ergics.
The supplements or nootropics I'm currently taking:
2400mg Piracetam (1.2g 2x Daily)
100mg Phenylracetam (50mg 2x Daily)
100mg Noopept (50mg 2x Daily)
3gr Choline Bitartrate (1gr 3x Daily)
5mg Methylcobalamin
500mg Omega 3, 500mg Omega 6, 500mg Omega 9 Oils with 2 grams of Vitamin E (Yes I know the E is overkill, but it is for a medical purpose)
0.5 Melatonin with 100mg 5-HTP at night
What I actually need to take:
500mg Levetiractam (250mg 2x Daily) for Epilepsy (Not-Needed, but apparently it helps "break-through" seizures") + 200mg Vitamin B6 to offset psychiatric side effects of keppra.
1500mg Valproic Semisodium (500mg 3x Daily) for Epilepsy
40mg Dronabinol for Myoclonus(Epilepsy)
What I'm prescribed for non-physical health issues:
Mirtazapine 90mg
Pramipexole 0.5mg
Tramadol 300mg (100mg 3x Daily)
Baclofen 60mg (20mg 3x Daily)
Valium 10mg (Up to 40mg, only when needed however.)
Thanks for the time and any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I'm a research subject at John Hopkins so any help will actually benefit the health-care system not just me. I was prescribed the THC pill after I mentioned smoking a joint relieved my myoclonic epilepsy and levetiracetam after I mentioned piracetam also helped the myoclonus. My doctors are extremely open to my recommendations and a pubmed study is literally all the evidence I need for them to try something.
Much love,
