I was doing some research on Centrophenoxine and I had noticed that it is closely related to DMAE and Alpha GPC. I was reading up on it, and I had noticed a warning for centrophenoxine, which is extremely uncommon for a nootropic, since nootropics are considered extremely safe. The warning stated that, "Centrophenoxine, via its DMAE subset, my induce teratogenic (birth defects) effects. Due to this, centrophenoxine should not be used by females of child-bearing age". I find it alarming that not enough people know about this fact. This is from an an article, "
Recently, the Faculty of Medicine at Canada's Université Laval conducted tests on skin cells that show a drastic and rapid swelling of fibroblasts, which maintain the connection between cells. Within a few hours after applying DMAE, cell division slowed and at times stopped completely. Twenty-four hours after applying the concentration of DMAE found in anti-wrinkle cosmetics, the fibroblast mortality rate reached over 25%."
I find that the dangers of these choline sources are major and I find it interesting that they are not being mentioned enough.
