In theory, Clonidine seems very interesting for anxiety by inhibiting the release of Norepinephrine. However, while being often mentioned and recommended here, I could only find very few actual reports of people having tried it and having any success with it, maybe 2 or 3 reports all over the net, and only one in Longecity. Is it one of those numerous substances that sound great in theory and on paper, but fail in real life ?

Is anyone here actually having success with it for controlling their anxiety ? And if so, how does it impact your blood pressure ? I have orthostatic hypotension , and clonidine seems pretty powerful at reducing blood pressure, which preoccupies me..
I may convince my doc to precribe it to me next time I see him. Unfortunately Guanfacine ( wich gets often mentionned in the same breath as Clonidine ) has been taken off the market here in 2009 , for reasons unknown to me.

I use clonidine as a sleep aid, and it helps me with that quite a lot. For a time I tried to use it during the day alongside Adderall to combat anxiety and tics, but I didn't notice much of a difference in that regard. It may have made me more tired during the day, too.
Apparently I also have low blood pressure, but clonidine hasn't given me trouble in that department. I haven't experienced significant lightheadedness or dizziness from it. I can't say I don't recommend clonidne, because it has helped me dramatically with insomnia and is (IMO) a wonderful drug, but I didn't feel much help with anxiety.

Thanks. That's what I thought, it seems that it's not that useful in reality as it is in theory, at least for anxiety.
