50 mg Lugol's iodine 2-3x/day along with cofactors. Less during maintenance. Optimox's website has info on tests to run and recommended companion nutrients (200 mcg L-selenomethionine, magnesium, vitamin C, sea salt, ATP cofactors, multivitamin, etc).

50mg 2-3x/day(100-150mg) total? You don’t mean mcg? That’s not an excessive dosing?

Iodine protocol uses 50 milligrams. Bumping to 100 milligrams lessens detox symptoms/severity. Read more online.

Few more websites.  Interesting topic, Brownstein has been using this for quite a while, part of his Covid protocol.(he sure does love vitamin A, make sure you are getting k2)

Interesting comment on cancer from the 2nd link

Cancer – Cancer is a result of mutated cells. Iodine is absolutely critical for something called P53 gene which is known as the “keeper of the genetic code”. Without iodine and selenium it will not function to eliminate abnormal cells from the body such as cancer. Cancer patients have taken anywhere from 50 – 300 mgs / day successfully. Here is a good article on how P53 works with the mdm2 in cancer http://www.scienceda...71015215101.htm For information on the P53 and Iodine see the Minerals for the Genetic Code book

Still havent decided myself about the dosing, 12.5 mgs seems high.  Japan kelp eaters can get that much, but most diets are under 1mg.  Co-factors seem really important if you do use a high dose.

Im back again... I was off iodine for a long while... just forgot.

Just restarted a few weeks back. No effects like the first Nascent Iodine dose - I think Ill explain that one a little more clearly.

(The OLD)

It was an eye opener - I described it as a triple jolt of coffee without jitters... but that was a summary.

Actually, it was close to what OP talked about nearly a decade ago - I felt (and I know this is subjective) like I was surrounded with a bubble of energy and things were 'purer' inside. I know this sounds weird to say... I mean how do you 'feel' that? Well, I did anyway.

Unfortunately, this only lasted a few hours. And redosing brought it back, but only for the first few days. Another thing was, like OP - I felt energy emanating from my eyes - not as strong as his description of multifractal Universes or whatever... but I definitely get what he was talking about. Same deal though, this didn't last long.

(After the last post and the PRESENT)

Now, that I have both Lugol's and Nascent Iodine - I see that Nascent has not much effect on me - a jolt in energy - better than lugols, but not by much. This could be because I started Lugol's earlier so I was iodine replete.

So for the time period after the last post, and up to the present - I actually tried Megadosing Lugols a few times. I used a 2% Lugol's Solution...so each drop was ~2.5mg Iodine/iodide. I took 20-25 drops at once, and did that once to thrice a day.

The effect was dramatic and perhaps, more importantly, different from my Nascent Iodine 'high'. Subjectively. it felt like for the first time in my life, my thirst was actually quenched. Imagine, you have been thirsty all your life, but never could get rid of it with water, you would not be aware of it, as it was the default state - but with iodine water, the thirst went away for the first time ever - thats the best way I can explain the sensation. Of course its not normal thirst, but thats the best parallel for the before/after state*.

Unfortunately, there was a side effect - stomach trouble that landed me too regularly on the Porcelain throne - it wasn't actually painful or anything - but the need came too often. So I had to stop.

(The PRESENT)

I decided to get back on after I randomly read one of Guy Abraham's papers at optimox.com that a small percentage of people have stomach issues with Lugols, and Iodoral is specifically designed to sidestep this. I bought a bottle of 12.5 mg, and had the BEGINNINGS of that thirst quenching sensation when I took ~75mg in a day (6 pills).

But I am running out of pills, so have ordered the 50mg bottle.

My hope is, I will experience that 'thirst quench', and further that it would be permanent as long as I stay on high Iodine. Will update when I get the 50mg pills.

Pity that I wasted so much time, simply because I did not know there was a way around the stomach issue. Also, I will add, even on 12.5 - 25mg over the last few weeks, while I haven't had any dramatic effects, I do feel more of a default reservoir of focus and concentration to study/work etc that I can draw on - my mind wanders less. So, even if I do not get the 'high dose thirst quench' effect again, Im probably going to be on 3.25-25mg iodoral daily for life (edit: or weekly equivalent).

Stay tuned.

* Note: If you read enough reviews on Amazon for Lugols, you will find some that say 'I love my Iodine water', one in particular says she loves it, but it makes her go - but she guesses its 'her body getting rid of toxins'. Of course the toxin thing is silly - but you can see the parallels with my experience anyway - lugols irritates (some) peoples stomach, but has some kind of other powerful effects, probably in higher range doses.

** Having reread this thread - even Turnbuckle talked about an effect only at high doses (23mg KI).

Okay... been on the 50mg for about ~10 days now.

Not 50 mg everyday... I did 25mg, and once 125mg.

25 - 50mg is fine for me. When I go above that... I start to get a runny nose, either Iodine excess, or Bromide detox.

Unfortunately I have not been able to activate the 'thirst-quench' feeling. Maybe if I get used to it and then up the dose in a few weeks, I'll try again. Maybe it was a transient phenomenon like the Nascent Iodine first week experience. If so, disappointing.

Apart from that, its a little frustrating, but it has truly been hit or miss. I don't feel more awake like clockwork, but sometimes, its been astounding.

  • When I played some FPS games I usually do for the last 3+ years, I noticed some details for the first time - like a flower pot on a table, or frames hanging on the walls.
  • I also once was reading a scientific article, while I had another unrelated fairly complex youtube video playing on another tab. And was able to keep track of both. Really, I felt my brain massaging in the info, taking in the audio on a slightly less conscious level, while dedicating more consciousness to reading, and then flipping, to processing the audio to understand it while taking less consciousness to read, all going back and forth over the span of 2-5 seconds. It was amazing, and I was doing it for a fair amount of time - 5-10 minutes or so?
  • Also, on another occasion, when reading  another scientific article, this time I actually read and interpreted the tables and graphs and data on them... usually I just skim them in a handwavy way and just take the gist of the article itself.
  • It seems my eyesight improves on Iodine - but in particular, it seems like I can perceive the 3-dimensionality of the world better. Edges seem sharper. Once, I woke up abruptly from sleep - and realized that this applied to the dream I was having as well.
  • Another day, I didn't, subjectively, feel anything - but I cleaned up the kitchen, AND cooked a meal that would last me 3-4 days, instead of just quick making me some Ramen and burgers, or ordering take-out as I usually do.

And the frustrating bit - some of days I feel nothing, and do nothing as well.

I don't know why its so hit and miss, and I do hope I can try higher doses in future and these bring strong 'thirst quenching' effects or at least more consistent effects (at higher doses and/or just over time, after all, its only been a few days).

As for the stomach upset - its sadly still there, but very muted. At 25mg its not noticeable, above that, hit or miss, but its there. Still, its better than stomach upset starting at 2.5 - 5 mg on Lugols.

Im going to order some normal Potassium Iodide pills, on the possibility that the stomach upset is coming from the Iodine in the Lugol's/Iodoral, not the iodide.
