I had a rare reaction to a supplement called pramiracetam. I took a supplement which caused neural death of sexual function within my brain, im essentially impotent without viagra.

Would the brain restore itself or is this just the way it is.

Its been about 3 months since i lasst took the supplement. Still no morning wood any more and when im suposed to have sex i dont get aroused.

I went to 2 doctors that were totally clueless

That's strange. How much Pramiracetam did you take? You called it a rare reaction, so do you know anything more specific? Why do you specifically say it "caused neural death of sexual function". That is a extremely broad overstatement. Sexual function is linked to a vast number of things. Acetylcholine, Testosterone, Dopamine, etc. Even all major neurotransmitters. Anything to do with Motivation Mood, ie, Serotonin, Oxytocin, the aforementioned ones. Sexual excitement can also come from Norepinephrine, epinephrine, adrenalin, etc.

I personally don't believe any brain alteration from any supplement or drug is permanent forever. The brains sole function is to change.

You're going to have to be way more specific. Nothing turns you on? Porn? Girls? Making out? Touching? Do you have an idea of what usually turns you on?

To be honest, I wish I could overcome my sexual urges and eliminate them all together, because I feel like they are just a waste of my energy that I could be using elsewhere. With this said, do you also feel your motivation to life activities down? Depression? Lethargy? Etc? Details, need them!

in the morning my duck is like 10 percent hard. I used to masutbate like every 2 days, wake up with a flag pole, always horny, after the dose of pramiracetam that all changed, its been 3 months and no morning wood still.

doctors said alll my levels were fine, so it has to be neural damage to my brain.

Why do you interpret that as damage, though?

I bet you most people would not go masturbate or think of doing it unless they were horny in the first place. A mind that is focused and working hard on something is not easily distracted and thus not going to easily ruminate to sexual thoughts. This has been my experience.

In the past I used to masturbate a lot, but decided to stop. I got urges a lot but overtime the urges were less and less. The wet dreams became less and less, and eventually I stopped getting morning wood all together. My mind doesn't ruminate as much to sexual thoughts and I don't masturbate anymore... there are times when I am not feeling very focused, maybe due to lack of sleep, and that day I will get very horny.

So perhaps Pramiracetam enhanced your focusing ability o.o.

This is just my take on it. On good days where I have been hard working and my mind is highly focused, even if I try to watch porn, it just doesn't interest me, nor does meaningless sex with somebody. It really depends. To me, this is a good thing.

Do you just not get turned on anymore? You said you need Viagra, does that mean you have not been able to get turned on in normal sexual encounters? I hope you're not using Viagra to masturbate lol.

I am finding it hard to believe a single dose of Pramiracetam could cause something like that, to be honest. You still never told us how much of it you took.

500 mg

then 250 mg a week later to see if it would worsen my ED, and it seems it did

I'd somewhat agree with Ark, sounds like it could be some bipolar to me. People with this disorder often rotate between alot of libido and very low or none.

yes, I'm sorry to say that it is indeed neural damage to your brain, and it's permanent I'm afraid. It will also make you completely amnesic , to the point of creating 7 different threads relating the same story and forgetting about them :
http://www.longecity...m-pramiracetam/
http://www.longecity...etam-permanent/
http://www.longecity...and-nootropics/
http://www.longecity...ain-permanetly/
http://www.longecity...egal-in-the-us/

Have you noticed any of the following symptoms : skin and hair slowly turning green, uncontrollable hysterical laughters and urges to post on various forums while dressed only in "Star Wars" branded underwear , etc.. ? This could be a confirmation that it is permanent and irreversible. Nothing can be done, I'm sorry.
I've seen however a serious double-blind study at Hobbit University that getting a job as a hostess in various Fantasy and Comic-Con conventions could slowly reverse the symptoms, but it might take up to 100.00056 years. Worth a shot in my opinion.
Hope this helps.

Why does it always feel like the people posting most of the stuff here are between the ages of 17 and 22.

no one on this forum, no matter how many links they back it up with, is qualified to tell you that you have neural damage. Its absolutely ridiculous. Anyone who does probably falls between that age group as well and is beyong underqualified. You yourself are also underqualified to self-diagnose neural brain damage.

Jesus what is wrong with some of you.

Coffee,

Follow my advice, you have nothing to lose from it:

Acetylcholine is responsible for the signaling and arousal (getting erections). In some, their acetylcholine supply just get used up way faster. If you lay off everything else and supplement continuously with a strong choline precursor (CDP, AGPC) that crosses the blood brain barrier you should start seeing results.

on another note, do you smoke weed or take anything else like phenibut? more information would be helpful

Neither Lecithin or DMAE are good sources of choline when compared to Alpha GPC or CDP Choline.

The way I see, it there are a few causes of this:
  • The pramiracetam was affected by other medication you were taking at the time,
  • The batch was toxic,
  • You had previous mental or health issues that were exacerbated,
  • Something else is causing it that you incorrectly assumed was pramiracetam
  • It's all in your mind.

Have you explored any other solutions in this thread?

Coffee,

tell us more of what other substances you were trying around that time so we are aware of other possible interactio
n (if you don't give any more info how are people to help?)

it might acetylcholine levels are extremely low.

If you don't want to try supplementing with acetylcholine sources you can try a acetylcholinerase such as huperizine A or galantamine:

Studies have shown it to be valuable for psychogenic impotence, or psychologically caused sexual dysfunction. One study found that 30 days of treatment with 10 mg of galantamine taken three times daily resulted in stabilizing erectile function and eliminating premature ejaculation in 108 of 170 men, a 64% success rate.11

i bought it from http://healthsupplem...holesalers.com/, they seem legit and supposedly have 3rd party testing, so i really dont know.

As for other meds, ive been poping things left and right with really no side effects on my sexuality. Near this time of the drop in sexuality i took a megadose of L-Glycine and and Creatine monohydrate.

I took noopept like a madman with no affect on libido, phenylpiracetam had no affect on libido,

although i did take piracetam around this time, i remember a feeling of physical change within my brain just a little while after taking pramiracetam.

You see here is the important part:

Choline bitrate or lecithin won't really yield results for this matter. I tried and it didn't do much. I assume this is because it's choline and your body regulates how much is converted to acetycholine in small ammounts.

CDP choline and Alpha GPC are already forms of acetylcholine, these work much better. because this is what your body requires for arousal. took me a week dosing 250mg CDP choline three times a day to start noticing effects.

Give us a report on either that or galantamine, I haven't tried it myself and I'm eager to know thanks.

Im waiting for it to come in the mail,

i bought cdp choline taking it everyday, im not seeing the complete return of libido, although it seems that my morning wood is about 5-7 % percent stronger, still nothing like it was before i took piracetam or this pramiracetam.

Im wondering if it was contaminated with heavy metals, im going to buy a testing kit and drop them in water and test them out.
