Hi! I am around 13 years old and have had very little signs of puberty. Strangely, I have a massive amount of sex drive! I think about sex at least twice a day. The funny thing is, I can't masturabate! Is it strange that I have sex drive without sperm circulation? Has anyone else had this problem when they were younger?

This is actually a question requiring a thorough and detailed response and won't be quick. In your introduction thread (I'll get to answering that one later), you mentioned the Strattera and Concerta. Strattera causes sexual dysfunction and stunted growth, and Concerta causes stunted growth. The drugs are most likely your problem, but ADD is a deep disease and IMO, it very rarely has anything to do with biology. I don't know why you're on the drugs, but they can cause you to not find enjoyment in things. We need alot more information. Let's start with your height, weight, diet, and sleeping habits. Also why did your doctor give you the strattera and concerta?

Um, cryonicsculture, are you posting on the right topic?

@Dooker
No worries. Really, don't worry :)
When I was 12, I freaked out because everyone was hitting puberty faster than me. I made myself crazy for nothing.
I had my first ejaculation at 13, but a lot of kids have it later.
Sounds like everything's perfectly normal.
Again: Everything's normal. Even worrying whether everything is normal is normal. You're not the only one.

I imagine you can mastubate but you can't ejaculate. I.e you experince orgasm but no ejaculation. Most males can do so before they turn 15. Its nothing to worry about at the moment, just perfectly normal growth. If I'm wrong please correct me and I'll try and provide more information.

No! I'm not freaking out about not hitting puberty! I'm concerned that I have sex drive BEFORE puberty. I don't think that's normal! Especially when I can't ejaculate

Sex drive is a sign of Puberty, I was a very early developer in some respects and I developed a sex drive by age 10-11 and already developed pubic hair. I didn't ejaculate until much later.

I can assure you you have already started puberty, if that helps.

I don't think I have ever had an orgasm. I think I would have know if I had. I don't ever reach a full climax I just... Well... Get a boner. I'm concerned because I'm having a drive before being able to ejaculate and i thought puberty CAUSES drive.

This sounds perfectly normal to me.

A sign of puberty is sex drive. Puberty isn't just a physical but mental change (I'm sure you know that) as well.

When I was 11-12 I was having boners all the time. Everywhere. It was really annoying and embarrassing. I started masturbating (having orgasms) when I was 13.
Piece of advice: If you don't masturbate, start. (weird advice, but it did help me with that problem. Could have probably prevented tons of weird situations. It's not nice to constantly have a boner in class.. ;))

Have you talked to your father about this? I'm pretty sure he will be very understanding. It would be a really awkward talk, but it seems like a good idea. The internet is anonymous and it makes it easier for you to ask questions. But if you have someone in real life you can talk to, then it would be a good idea to do just that.
Never forget that every adult had to go through this ;)

I hope this is not seen as inappropiate, but, well, I believe every teenager has the right to know how 'things' work. This is how masturbation works, pretty much.

When you are not circumcised, you pull back and forth your foreskin with your hand. You use your foreskin to stimulate your glans (the pink part at the end of the penis).
When you are circumcised (the glans is not covered by your foreskin and can be seen at all times), you usually use some kind of lotion or lubricant to masturbate and use your hand to stimulate your glans directly. Some people use their saliva. It depends on how sensitive your glans is. Some people don't have to use anything.

When you go onto the wikipedia page on masturbation (there's a category for male masturbation), you will find pictures of ''how" things work. However, there are some very, well, detailed pictures on that website. I don't wanna scare you. It's not pornographic, but it's pictures of genitalia.

If your glans is covered by your foreskin and you are not able to pull back your foreskin at all (so you can see the pink glans), that would be a different issue. You probably don't have it, but if you do, don't freak out. It's a frequent problem. In that case, you would have to talk to your parents.

Sooo. Some sex-ed on the mental health subforum :D

If you have any more questions, you can ask, but it's probably better to talk to your dad or an older brother if you have one.

That seems to be a good sex-ed website. If what I wrote confused you, you might find the explanations on that site a little more accessible.

Thanks, but I think I knew that already. The reason I asked was because I've tried and it didn't work. I thought I wasn't doing it right at first but this just confirms my theory that I can't yet. Thank you for the explanation though. Again, I just think it's concerning that I'm having sex drive before any other signs of puberty.

You've always had sex drive, it just wasn't apparent to you. Previously, your penis felt good when you touched and that was it. Now you're learning to associate. What you're experiencing is an awakening. Your recognizing it among your peers and you're learning to awaken the chemistry of sex drive by association. The other thing you're experiencing is the airborne hormones of those around you as everyone does the same thing you're doing.

Anyways, diet and other factors which can influence your sexual development are under your control and if you get educated about them, you can take advantage of them and achieve your hardware goals or at least improve your hardware outcome. Join some sports, eat lots of broccoli and cruciferous veggies and focus on working out. It all supports your development and this is the time of your life when you will be better at these things than at any time of your life. Get this stuff right and you'll enjoy your life and living will feel good. You and your peers are about to develop a level of health that you can't imagine right now.

I'm looking at the two threads as one issue. I don't see them as separate and certainly see the drugs as an impairment to development that will need a good doctor to rectify. There are other ways than drugs to solve your problems and everything in your life is conncected by chemistry. The way you feel and don't feel is all effected by hormones and chemical reactions going on in your body. You need to optimize all of that for the best possible development and your problems will improve or disappear.

I wouldn't use saliva unless you are very aware of your health and can recognize infections in the mouth as you can wind up spreading certain infections like that which will require a doctor's care.

You mean you've tried to ejaculate and it didn't work? Or you didn't get hard, or you didn't feel anything from the back and forth movement? I'm a little confused...

Some other advice, find a volunteer organization that you'd like to be a part of and start getting comfortable with girls who are interested in the same things.

I started masturbating when I was about 8 and reaching an orgasm when I was about 9. I didn't produce any ejaculate till I was 13 or so. But being on stimulants may be interfering a bit with your ability to reach a climax, I wouldn't be worried about that personally if I knew that the meds may cause that. But I do understand it might seem strange and unnatural, just hang on a bit longer.
