Started on a dark/night theme for the site one day, but never finished. I don't think I am going to get around to it, so have at it.
Someone mentioned the blue and white theme was unhealthy, so I started this theme in yellow/black It uses the "Stylish" addon for firefox and chrome. It is almost finished and should work well for browsing the site but still needs some tweaks. Things that need to be done:
- Fix reply/new topic posting text which is currently black but should be light yellow or white. This is probably the most important thing [as I am realizing as I type this, ha ha]
- The news bars on the side of the /forum/ page need to have their background color adjusted, should be easy.
- The home page adapts terribly. I think this might be more trouble than it is worth to fix.
- Semi-related to the home page, some of the forum category images have a white background. I think this is due them having a white image background instead of transparent, will be a pain to fix.
- A lot of the changes could probably be replaced by fewer changes to more general settings.
- Some header text is still in black. Might be able to knock most of it out with one header font color change
- A few little components still have a white background, and some still have black text.
More Details are on the userstyles page http://userstyles.or...city-dark-theme including links to the color pallets used.
I hope the documentation is good enough, I know it isn't great, and it may be inconsistent or not very elegant since I had never done anything CSS before this. The only meaningful content (inside the classes) are the lines that include "!important" (which is part of the style so that it overrides, not a comment). The rest are just there because I wasn't sure if I was going to change anything else or need them later.
Feel free to ask me about anything, just shoot me a message preferably. It may take a long time to respond though, sorry.
