I occasionally visit Malaysia as well from my current residence in Singapore, but more frequently to other parts of Selangor rather than Kuala Lumpur.

Welcome. What's a "Chicken Essence" ?

 

chicken essence is a foul-tasting but protein rich kind of syrup that is either drunk straight off its small jar (about as big as a marmalade jar) or mixed into broths. 

It has a wide range of uses, from supposedly curing aches and pains to just maintaining good health.  The most popular one is "Brand's Essence of Chicken"
