I'm looking to start taking this as a suppliment and I'm just wondering how choosy I need to be when looking to buy some online? Is there high variability in quality? Any brands to avoid?

Just to give an example, i'm looking at products on ebay and you can buy 180 caps, 60mg of NOW grapeseed extract here for £24
http://www.ebay.co.u...m2042&_trkparms
and then 120 x 100mg for only £6 here
http://www.ebay.co.u...261442731519?pt
There is a lot of variety in pricing and I don't really know one way or the other how to know what I should be looking for. Does anyone on here have any recommendations or reasons I should not be going for the cheaper options?

With Grape Seed extract it is hard to say. There are patented forms like Mega BP (extract, 90% polyphenols), but you can also buy extract in bulk dirt cheap -
for example from bulkpowders.co.uk and cap it yourself, which is what I do.
Also, there's conflicting information on the right dose and if Bioperine helps absorbtion or not.
You should check examine.com's info on GSE, and judge for youself.
According to their information, the low bioavailability makes many of the effects seen in studies hard to achieve through oral administartion - making GSE look a bit overhyped and overmarketed at least regarding the standard 300mg dose that most supplements use...
In the end, you probably would do best in first ordering one of the more expensive brand extracts from a reputable brand, and then buy it cheap in bulk afterwards to compare effects - it's the only way to know for sure.

I used to get a 95% proanthocyanidin GSE in bulk from BAC before they started phasing it out. I have not tried them yet myself but PureBulk.com may be a good source... they sell it as both bulk powder and in capsules. They also have 95% proanthocyanidin Pine Bark extract either alone or mixed with GSE.

If you buy in bulk then you will have to capsulate it, dunno if you have used it before but the taste as in just mixed with water
is just to bitter to stomach, well it is for me.
