Okay, I've sent out 5-6 copies of the clip. If anyone requests it but does not receive it, let me know. Perhaps the file size is too big for some email servers. Many of you seem to have gmail, which accepts rather large file attachments.

My disdain for the Daily Show comes from a few things. First, Jon Stewart is someone I had the displeasure of watching years ago when he was much lamer. Once he was interviewing Dave Mustaine from Megadeth who was insulting Jon Stewart and making fun of him the whole time for knowing nothing about Metallica or Megadeth (even after interviewing its lead singer) and all of Dave's comments were going completely over Stewart's head. (I was a fan of the Daily Show in the earlier days of Craig Kilborn.)

Second, well, as you can see from today's episode, they have a tendency to take alot of stuff out of context in order to fit their preconceived ideas or in an attempt to make a joke. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I DO however, really like Lewis Black!

They are *****.

Navigation: Justin, have to know by now that I'm going to completely bleep that on you.

So you think Jon Stewart is or was a "lamer" and one of your reasons for this is for him not "knowing nothing about Metallica or Megadeth." Since I don't know anything about Metallica or Megadeth either, since I happen to never have been interested in that genre, I personally don't mind if Metallica and Megadeth trivia goes over anyones Jon Stewarts head. I usually watch Jon Stewart for the political mockery, which I find entertaining. Metallica is also entertaining, but if I wanted to watch people who were up to date on Metallica and Megadeth, i'd gladly visit VH1 or the E-Channel's True Hollywood Stories.

Point taken, I see where we differ, but I still think Jon Stewart is the Sh*znit.
Hey at least we both agree on Lewis Black!

Anyhow, lets just see how effective this event will be over the coming days or weeks. I am very optimistic and confident that this exposure will do well for imminst and longevity research in general.

Excellent! Welcome to our site Jason and please make yourself at home.

I knew that our appearance on the Daily Show would bring us at least some new visitors. [thumb]

Haha, not necessarily. I just think he should have known who he was interviewing. He seriously acted like he had no clue who Mustaine was. Granted this was like 10 years ago -- I'm sure Jon Stewart reads up on his guests now. :)

On second, hehe, and third viewing this is better than I thought.

Jay, did they edit it or did you really have that blank look on your face when they said vagina cream? ;)

He said "vagina" and "anus" and "ass" so many times during the interview, I got used to it. Originally, the "cream" was actually a cocktail of Premain low dose topical conjugated estrogen (vagina cream) and hemorrhoid cream (ass cream). At one point, he started to as me a question: "But isn't it possible that vagina and ass cre-" and then he busted up laughing. Even Ed couldn't keep a straight face some of the time.

Also, when he said, "I've got two words for you", he originally said: "Vagina... Anus... I think you see where I'm going with this."

In the end, I guess they decided to axe the hemorrhoid cream entirely, so they spliced together the footage so that his two words were: "Vagina... Cream..." If you listen to it carefully, you can tell it was spliced.

I got to see it on the last re-run 9am Eastern time today. Seriously, I thought that it was gonna be an interview with you showing Imminst book, a serious interview, like other episodes of the show with past interviewees. No matter, the small amount of time which you were on gave some recognition to Imminst, most importantly, immortality being shown as achievable. Not to mention how funny it was with that cream(It was all about that wonderful cream [sfty] [wis] ). The plus side to what I see shows those guys making fun of the cream/people who use it, and you being portrait as being of rational mind speaking about how Biological immortality can be achieved. Final word; The episode was the funniest one I have seen yet.

By the way Jayfox, you , to me , sound like this actor, your voice. The guy who came in the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

Are you sure you've got the right guy? I thought you were going to say Ben Stein, doing his "Bueller? Bueller?" or his "Anyone? Something dee oh oh economics. 'Voodoo' economics"

hhhmm, secondary "referential" experience is notoriously inaccurate, but I'd say yeah, your voice, your timbre, etc, sounded just like him.

Why, do you not like M Broderick?

Well, at least lip readers got the "em prize dot org" part.

Actually, Justin, Nate makes a good point. At least somebody "heard" what I had to say. Assuming they let the clip go that long.

I can't read lips, so perhaps I'm overreacting, but I tend to mumble and barely open my mouth, so I can't tell what I was saying when I re-watch the clip, and I remember almost verbatim what I actually said. So I suspect that even lip-readers might not have "heard" what I said.

Well, so far so good. I've sent out 9 emails with the daily show segment and I haven't gotten any bounced back. I compressed it down to 5mb to make sure it went through. Totally uncompressed, the file size is about 1gb. ;) (I use a firewire port and import everything as DV instead of using a capture card.)

Putting the fate of humanity in a rich and/or influencial lip-reader that watched the Daily Show on that day, is quite ridiculous.

We should get some real media coverage...

Just saw it, and I have to say that it came out far better than I thought it would. It also left me wishing you could nab an interview with John. You certainly seemed both talented enough at public speaking, and knowledgable on an interesting scientific subject, to fit the bill. From what I've seen at least, it seems to be a fairly rare combination.

I do have a suggestion for another venue which might be worth taking a look into. It's still a bit on the fringe side of course, but have you ever thought of trying to get an interview on Coast To Coast AM? As crazy as the subject matter often is, even into the "Hey, BUY MY BOOK!!!!!111!" level at times, they're often quite open to people with more extreame views of technology. They also seem to be in a new experimentation phase with the format, which might work well into getting aboard. Art Bell, the original host, especially seems to relish many of the topics which fall under the immortality heading.

Coast to Coast had an interview not too long ago with Terry Grossman, the other half of Ray Kurzweil's "Fantastic Voyage" team. It was a fabulous interview and I was lucky to hear it considering it's on so late where I am.

Michio Kaku is also a regular guest on Coast to Coast.
