Hello all,

Well i been looking around the forum and really haven't found the answer I been looking for. Maybe someone could help me out.

I started my journey about 1 month ago with start drugs. I first started with pirecatam and that didn't help. I went from one vendor to other to see if there was a difference. The highest dosage i went was 2.5g 3x a day. Didn't do anything for me.

After doing more research and running out of piracetam I decided to move on to Aniracetam since it's a little stronger. I been on it 3 days now. Dosage is 750mg and 200gm of choline 2x a day. Morning and afternoon 4 hours apart.

I haven't really notice a difference. Now my question is would it be okay to up the dosage to 1500mg 2x a day morning / afternoon with 500mg of choline? What i'm trying to do is focus on a exam test I have this Friday. I have a lot of reading to work on and practice test I been taking. Job is asking me to pass this exam.

So doubling the dosage would that help me out or cause a problem. Plus should I leave the choline in or take it out for better performance?

Any suggestion would be nice or if anyone had the same situation i'm in .

Thank you again.

I saw that you did some research around the forum, but I didn't notice you specify that you were taking your aniracetam with a fatty food.  Since aniracetam is fat-soluble, you need to do this to get adequate absorption.  Have you tried that yet?  I'm sorry if that falls under the looking you've already done, but sometimes it's the little things :)

Sorry I forgot to mention that. What I been doing is taking it with a small cup of milk since that's a fatty acid. Even before taking the dosage I eat about 15 almonds just because I need the fatty since I'm on a workout plan. Do you think doing that 1.5g dosage twice a day is good or bad? should I keep the choline in or out.

Since I eat fish would that be enough for me to take out the choline? I eat about 12lbs or fish threw out the day...

take the choline if you start to experience headaches from the aniracetam, or you can keep a low dose choline if you want. you'll know if the choline is too much if you experience neck pain in the back of your neck or the base of your skull, that's a classic sign of too much choline.

also, 1.5g twice a day is double the dose most people take... you've picked a bad time to experiment if your test is friday since racetams are notorious for responding differently for different people. i'm not saying you should take that high of a dose... but i will say definitely watch out for signs of too much aniracetam such as headaches and sedation.

the headaches can be treated by choline, but it would be kinda counterproductive if you try aniracetam for studying and it instead makes you sleepy.

also throwing your acetylcholine balance off wack can cause brain fog and cognitive dulling... this is why most people start low and go up from there over time to see how their body responds...

WOW you hit it right on the head regarding getting sleepy... Rather then trying 1.5 i did tonight 1.0g after taking it 10 mins i felt sleepy for about 5 mins then out of the blue I woke up and started to read ... I did read somewhere that some people would get sleepy and then wake up and feel good.

Ya I know I it's bad timing but why not take a shot and see what happens. like i said i been on this brain hack for about 1 1/2 half now so my brain should be okay with the dosage.

Piracetam didn't do it's deal... so now i'm here... I guess tomorrow I will go with 1.0g and see if I get the same way. It's weird that you a lot of people talk about brain fog... I really dont know what that feels like....

What would be consider brain fog? I know it sound dumb but many people have different meaning for it.

people feel sleepy and then wake up because aniracetam gets metabolized into 2 other compounds, and its been said these 2 compounds have a stimulatory effect. so original aniracetam seems to focus more on anxiolytic effects which can be pushed into sedation, but once it gets metabolized it becomes stimulatory due to the 2 metabolites.

also, brain fog is definitely not good. it literally feels like there's fog in your thoughts... like you'll be trying to read and memorize/learn something, then later you try to recall and you can't because your mind is just blank. it's the same for thinking too; say you're answering a multiple choice question and you try to reason you way to eliminate answers... but you just can't because your thoughts are all hazy and you can't see how one answer connects to another or even the question...

Thank you very much for the feed back. I know I pushed myself on taking so large dosages thinking it was going to help me in one week. Now i feel like i can't remember what I learned threw the week. UGH!!!!! I think i'm going to lower my dosage tomorrow when I take my exam. I started at 750mg with 200mg of choline. Twice a day one in the morning, and afternoon 4 hours apart. We will see if all this studying really helped or not.

I know that aniracetam takes at least 2 weeks for it to kick in. I'm going to stick with that dosage for 2 weeks and see how that goes. If I see that It's not improving then I will bump up the dosage.

ONe other when taking aniracetam should I take it every day or when I'm about to start learning something or studying?

Never really thought to ask this question...

people respond very differently to each racetam. Many people say it takes a week or 2 to see a cumulative effect... however my first experience with aniracetam was very intense from the first dose and the effect became more manageable after that. I think the general consensus is tolerance usually develops from daily use... however i've personally been taking aniracetam daily for over a month and seen consistent effects so again it should be emphasized that each person responds differently.

this is why it's important, if you want to try nootropics, to test them out well in advance of you needing them for something specific like studying. if you know how each effects you through experimentation with doses, then you know what will benefit you for any given scenario.

Well thank you for your advice. I know that when I first started with piracetam that didn't do anything for me since I was on it for about 1 month. While I was on piracetam i order my aniracetam and stopped taking piracetam then next day I started aniracetam. Don't know if I should of waited a couple days but i started right away.

I guess my body like you said is different since i notice even with the large dosage I didn't really feel anything different. Oh well we will see how these next 2 weeks go taking it twice a day at 750mg and 200mg...

Now is that a good dosage i should start out with?

if you want a full-proof way to know if you respond, I would suggest taking none for 1 week as a wash out...

then take 200mg in the morning and assess a response

if none or if you see a response, try 400mg in the afternoon and assess a response

then try 750 the next morning and thereafter and assess a response.

the reason for this is most piracetams have a parabolic dose-response curve where you get optimal results somewhere between a small dose and a large dose.

if you still see none, push doses higher than 750 but since you did experience drowsiness followed by higher energy... that seems to indicate you are definitely an aniracetam responder and it's just finding the right dose that is needed. sometimes a low dose like 200mg taken up to 4-5 times a day can be more effective than a 750 dose twice a day or a big 1gm dose in the morning.

as for choline, I would suggest not taking any and waiting to see if aniracetam induces a choline headache, and if so, take choline only in response to headaches. this will remove the chances of too much choline masking any effect of the racetam and causing brain-fog or cognitive dulling.

after you test these, try taking a combination of aniracetam and piracetam as racetams tend to potentiate each other. my own personal experience is very positive when combining these 2 racetams as it seems to extend aniracetam's effects for me. I take a 1:1 ratio, so you can redo the aniracetam experiment dose schedule with same amounts of piracetam.

should you develop any form of tolerance from daily dosing, definitely plan a wash-out period where you don't take any for 0.5-1 week, or explore other racetams if you feel they could be beneficial.

Thank you once again, how far apart should I take the 200mg and 400mg ? Plus after you answered the question should I always keep them apart that long?

For a few months, I've had very good results from taking 750 mg of Aniracetam every 3 to 4 hours with 300 mg of Alpha GPC and a fat source, e.g., fish oil, an avocado, etc. Aniracetam is fat soluble and I've read that the fat source improves it's bioavailability. That may or may not be true, but it can't hurt.

Some people say that the Alpha GPC (a choline precursor) and/or the fat source aren't necessary, but this regimen has been optimal for me based on trial and error.

I saw results starting from the first day and gradually increasing. For me, Aniracetam improves motivation, concentration, and my sense of aesthetics.

I've cycled off the Ani for one week out of four because I wanted to test other nootropics independently. My results have been good, but I don't know if the cycling was helpful. I've heard that some people develop a tolerance.

With EVERYTHING you try because you read a post here, please start with a VERY low dose and gradually work up to the suggested dose - the Shulgin method.  We all have different biochemistry  ;)

I hope you'll have a great experience with Ani. Please post your results for us. Cheers!

THanks for the advice. Well I started taking Aniracetam twice a day at 250mg, and 1gram of Piracetam twice a day.

I been on these 2 items for about 3 weeks now. At what point do I increase the dosage and how much. I guess that's that's where i run into problem on how much I need to increate the dosage to see if it works for me or not.

I haven't take any choline because I don't get any headaches on any of these 2 things.

If someone could explain to me how the increase the dosage works that would be great when you're taking 2 different brain supplement.
