I agree Nate, buying the raw powder in bulk would be preferable.

Do we know the what the new price of the 200 bottle will be ?

Do we know when it will 'launched'.... this was supposed to go live in Sept (i recall)

LC3 is the new code for the three bottle orders its ready now. Pick the 3 bottle purchase, not the single bottle X 3.

https://hpnsupplemen.../product/niagen

New price structures coming just give me a day or so to solidify whats going on.

October 15 everything will be ready I'm assured.

The next group buy is October 15th.

HPN will be rolling out some new prices on the previous categories and the larger bottle size for our group. (180) not 200

Yes they scaled it back a little. It will be cheaper than the 3 bottle LC3 deal by about $9.19. We're going to be the test market. So this deal will run along side the other deals in the same time window. If its received well, like the LC3 deal they plan to set up something permanent. Less packaging lower price I guess.

We are expecting the 6 and 12 bottle codes to be longecity16 and longecity16x

Oh on some of the other things I heard you guys asking, I was trying to see if RAW NR could be purchased. NO

I also asked if they could offer a product that wasn't as clean, like some of the venders are using to cut costs. Again NO

I posted in the wrong group buy thread. Right now there's a "MOVING" code going on that gets you the same price for 6 bottles as you do with the longecity16 until Oct 2.  I won't be done with these 6 bottles for a while since I scaled back to 375 mg per day in line with the recent review showing a diminishing returns between 300 and 1000 and that despite the half life, once a day is enough.

Nate-2004, would you tell us if you are dosing the 375 Mg all at once? What is the timing? (Still the wrong thread, but oh well.)

I have taken a few weeks off of N.R. for various reasons, and am planning to start back up shortly. It will be an important test for me, and I really want to be careful that I am dosing it as well as possible. A hugely important factor is sleep disruption. I hope that it was not the N.R..

As someone who's insomnia prone I can say it hasn't affected my sleep.

I take the 375 all at once around noon on the theory that NAMPT peaks in the early afternoon. Supposedly the half life of NR is 4 hrs but the boost in NAD lasts about 24 hrs before dropping back off. So I think all at noon is the perfect time.

I confidently predict... when we get to 15 October there will be another delay

and another change of plan.

because ... what's changed ?

Why would they suddenly start behaving differently ?

Mark my words... I've called this first.

Question is; is nicotinamide riboside actually working for you all? I only know of another brand that makes the product and they are Thorne Research. The product is expensive but I'm willing to try it someday. I've tried almost every type of Niacin there is.

October 15th is a date that has stood. They had to ramp up production and stock this new category and the difference is only 20 capsules, which had something to do with the volume of the bottle and our normal consumption rates. They are also giving us more buying power on they deals they were offering. Its all good.

Thorne Research is a fine distributer but different encapsulation excipients that includes powdered silica. HPN has the cleanest product on the market and has supported us under team pricing since the spring of 2014.

Just checking -- is Oct. 15 still on track as the date when the new larger-quantity bottle will be available? If it is, I'll wait to re-order until then...if it isn't, I'd better re-order today on the old lc3 discount. Thanks.

Is the 180 bottle specials for their 125mg caps or are these 250mg caps? No detail, although is does say "90 day supply" so guessing that means 125mg, so $4.44/gm?

Can someone double check and see if I have the wrong info?

I'm assuming default is 60 capsules per bottle.

60 * 6 bottles = 360 capsules /$194.99 = 1.84 per capsule

60 * 12 bottles = 720 capsules /$377.94 = 1.90 per capsule

180 capsules in one bottle= 180/99.99 = 1.80 per capsule

Did I do some calculation wrong or have wrong data? It looks like the 6 bottle deal is better than the 12 bottle deal?

It looks like the 180 capsules per bottle deal is the best deal. This one makes sense, less packaging saves money.

With the recent publications I'm guessing many of us are changing our dosage amounts fairly dramatically, but some may be deciding to add another family member with that surplus and would still be better off with the 6 bottle purchase. (180ct -> $4.44/g vs 6 Btl -> $4.33/g). For that matter, those who have budgeted for the 6 bottle purchase this round may just want to go that route and skip the next round.

I think HPN missed the 2x 180ct price point which I hope to see reflected in the pricing scheme in future rounds.

Those columns are not aligned but the last one is the comparison of the 180ct vs 6 and 12 bottle counts.

Sorry it doesn't look better, can only edit once and it looked good in preview. There a shared spreadsheet viewable at https://docs.google....dit?usp=sharing

Looks correct to me.

I checked the prices with the prices shown on the website.

On the face of it... it looks right.

Clearly, there's no point in buying the 12 bottle product.

(it makes no sense)

And... there's no point buying the 6 bottles product.. either.

You might as well buy 2 of the 180 cap bottles.

It was probably a good idea to abandon the codes.

(They only caused confusion and frustration)

Before you all rush to double up your dosages... note this:

Since starting taking NR i experienced, randomly, sensitivity

in the sole of my right foot...  and then later a *really* painful

left wrist.  It just appeared magically one morning.  I had no

injury to account for the pain.

About one week ago, i stopped taking NR.. to see if there

would be any response in my wrist and/or foot.

Since stopping NR... i have noticed that my wrist and foot

are both obviously better.

Reduced frequency and intensity of pain attacks from my

wrist,  much reduced sensitivity and no tingling from my foot.

The only thing i changed, was stopping my NR caps.

For those of you planning to double up your NR dosage,

keep in mind that, for some people at least, this might

feed your resident pathogens.  So be mindful of any

newly occurring pains or sensitivity in your joints.

And report your symptoms in this thread and/or the

experience thread so that we can exchange 'side-effects'

information with one another.

It looks like the 180 capsules per bottle deal is the best deal. This one makes sense, less packaging saves money.

The price per capsule doesn't work when comparing deals and venders. You can't compare a 100, 125 and 250mg capsules.

So take the number of capsules and multiply by their weigh. So for example 60 capsules at 125 mg per = 7.5 grams

In other words .125x60=7.5 grams

How many bottles is the deal, lets say 12

12x7.5 grams = 90 grams

So $377.94/90=$4.20 per gram

Now using this approach you can price HPN this against someone like Jarrow Formulas where the capsule price looks really good but isn't after you do the math.

60 capsules @ 100 mg's apiece = 6 grams for $33.54 or $5.59 per gram

Now the last comparison is ingredients, HPN is all vegetarian with cellulose and Nicotinamide Roboside Chloride. So look at the "other ingredients" thats where some of these venders try and save money. These are called excipients and are necessary for the encapsulation process, its just that the better excipients cost more money. So the bottom line price isn't the only consideration.

What each of us puts in their own body is up to you.

HPN has the highest quality product for the money and has been here supporting our group since the spring of 2014. The product they produce was greatly influenced by our LongeCity forum, so you guys can take some of the credit for what ingredients they package as this product was customized with our feedback.

HPN will also make available their 3rd party testing and as we've learned some venders talk the talk but won't walk the walk.

No, the prices samstersam calculated are wrong... obviously 180 capsules * $1.80 per capsule != $99.99 !!

So playground, buying the 6 count or 12 count still makes sense if you need that volume. I do totally agree using a direct link is nice vs discount codes.

Also, I don't think any of us that have been going through 3 or more bottles every 60 days is planning on doubling up on dosage based on the recent publications. Rather, I'd assume, most are planning on halfing the dose.

Oh DUH.  :|o

I flipped the divisor and dividend. I'm supposed to put cost / total qty. I flipped them by accident!

Its supposed to be

6 bottles : $194.99/360 capsules = .54 per capsule

12 bottles : $377.94/720 capsules = .52 per capsule

180 qt 1 bottle : $99.99/180 capsules = .55 per capsule.

So the best deal is still the 12 bottle deal.

Sorry for the brainfart. Its food coma from lunch.   zzzZZZZ

But then again this brings another question. Why wouldn't the 180 count bottle be a better deal than the 6 bottle deall? There's less packaging.

And @ Brian, I understand the dosage amount per capsule should be the way to calculate between 2 different vendors. But I just used per capsule to simplify it, because I'm comparing the different deals from the same company whose dosage amounts are the same across the different deals and bottles. Each of those deals have the same size capsules, correct?

Sorry for the brainfart.

Sorry for the brainfart.

Thats OK I dont mess with capsule pricing because its harder to see who's offering the price so its better to compare apples to apples. Here you are looking at one vendor.

The 180 count is like a 3 bottle deal minus some packaging. (60 count times 3 = 180) You can use the LC3 code if you want the old deal and extra packaging. I was told if the 180 count does well they will keep it going for us.

They need a 2x and 4x 180ct deal then. We want it to do well too. Even if it was at the same price point as the 6 and 12 pack (even though that wouldn't make sense given the less cost incurred).

Sorry for the noob question but how does one take advantage of the group buy

Do I need to be a paid up longecity member or use a coupon code ?

(update) - don't worry I worked it out :)

Seems like we've been stuck, across all major vendors, at (a discounted) $30 to $35 per bottle of 60 x 125 mg NR for quite awhile, making tablet composition and shipping costs the bigger issues for the time being.
