I've color coded this post for easy digestion. It should however be read linearly and in it's entirety.
science is science, i wasn't arguing anything else... If it's offensive/abusive (specified as prohibited), I remove it. Which topic are you talking about?
Pray what exactly are your qualifications for the role of a "science protector"? Judging by the content of your posts you'd do well if you listen more and speak less when it comes to science. Otherwise, as a moderator, you're risking scaring off new members.
A random dude posting nonsense does not have quite the same impact as a moderator, right? If I'm not mistaken, you edited a post in the ebola thread.
I'm not aware of anywhere that I've claimed to be an expert on something that I am not. I speculate where there are gaps of information to promote expansion of the content and elicit ideas and interest from readers. In this way, my questions or speculations drive interest and further discussion as well as broaden attraction to new markets and makes the conversation accessible to those with limited knowledge on the subject so more will come and learn and rise in the ranks so to speak. In order to achieve the best possible results, people need to do alot of self study and run things by their health/supplement adviser. The info needs to be accessible. The bylaws do say things to that effect.
The Ebola thread is a prime example. It's a trending news story that people will have questions about and might want to prepare for. As a media outlet, I started a topic to attract people and discussions. Have you thought about helping out? I was clear to the fact that I was opening the conversation for discussion and was in no way an expert on infectious diseases. Though users should read the bylaws to understand that I don't have to and that I'm not an expert unless I say I'm an expert. Think of my moderator role as a sort of interest news anchor. It's not my job to be the expert, it's my job to get the experts talking and relating to our 1600-8k/day audience and tie things into living forever and defeating aging and inspiring people to want to live forever and reverse aging with us to achieve a state of health that is beyond what we had in the best times of our youth or even a high performance athlete's youth. Achieving Indefinite lifespans is about achieving a combination of health metrics that is superior to what can occur naturally. We want to be stronger, faster, more beautiful, more full of vigor and life. We want to give the world radical new levels of health with unlimited inherent sustainability. This is the spirit of medical transhumanism and what LongeCity is made out of. If you want to be a moderator here, that's what you're going to have to exhort. Otherwise, you're free to continue being a registered user or non-voting member in our charitable company's open community.
If you'd like to join us as a moderator, you'll need to buy a membership and write an essay on the social benefits of radical life extension and age reversal therapies or just tell us why radical life extension and having the technology and medicine to live for 1000s of years is important to you. Please include a copy of your resume. You can send it to contact@longecity.org.
The post I edited in the Ebola thread contained offensive language and a word that was expressly prohibited on our site (though we have room for interpretation and contextual use). However, the rest of it was worth keeping, so instead of getting rid of the whole thing, I kept the good parts for the benefit of the community and the discussion.
I'm logical enough to know BS when I see it and humble enough to ask for references and further explanation when I don't understand. I don't claim to know what I don't and I stick to regurgitating information to be used as leads and make sure everyone I encounter gets something from LongeCity. I also know who our trusted and expert members are and I periodically invite them to topics where I think their expertise and opinions would be useful or informative.
