Is there anyone that has combined taking C60oo with a telomerase activator?  If so, why and which activator? If not why not?

I have in the past taken goji juice (lycium barbarum) at the dosage of 4 -8 fluid ounces a day.

I believe it to be a telomerase activator because of this study:

http://spandidos-pub...2/mmr.2014.1964

Inhibitory effect of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides on cell apoptosis and senescence is potentially mediated by the p53 signaling pathway

"Furthermore, the expression of genes that relate to aging, such as p53, p21 and Bax, was decreased, while that of Mdm2 and TERT genes was increased after treatment with LBPs. "

It also conversely inhibits hTert in cancer cells -- thats why I chose it

http://en.cnki.com.c...GY201210025.htm

The Effect of Lycium barbarum Polysaccharides on the Telomerase Activation and hTERT Expression on the Portability Liver Cancer in Mice

"Conclusion LBP can produce depressant effects on the portability liver cancer in mice. The effects concerned with the LBP can inhibit the hTERT expression and depress the telomerase activation."

I recommend it. My old log is here:
http://www.longecity...og-logic/page-2

I am back on C60oo since Monday with no other supps besides Vit C Ester occasionally. I am also not exercising atm.
I would say the effects of C60oo alone are about 20% of what I experienced at the time of my log when I was on Epitalon, Astragalus, Gingko Biloba, Milk Thistle, Purslane, Multi etc.

Interesting.  Where did you source your goji juice from?  In doing a little research there is apparently some concern with the amount and type of insecticides used on the plants cultivated in China, but apparently the plant is grown outside of China, including in the US.

Logic - the Epithalon looks interesting.  How are you administering it (injection? sublingual?) and where do you source it?

Also, why did you stop using it previously?

I suppose it won't kill you but here's the methodology in that paper:

Zebrafish embryos were continuously exposed to various concentrations of LBPs (1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 mg/ml) for 3 days.

There's just no way to maintain anything near these concentrations of L. barbarum polysaccharides in the human body for any significant amount of time.  The body has a large collection of enzymes and organ systems that is designed to keep xenobiotics out of the body in the first place, and to rapidly solubilize and excrete them should they manage to get in.   Unless a substance has been shown to be active when orally dosed in a mammal, I wouldn't expect it to work in a human.

"Seventy nine advanced cancer patients in a clinical trial were treated with LAK/IL-2 combining with Lycium Barbarum polysaccharides (LBP). Initial results of the treatment from 75 evaluable patients indicated that objective regression of cancer was achieved in patients with malignant melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, lung cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, malignant hydrothorax. The response rate of patients treated with LAK/IL-2 plus LBP was 40.9% while that of patients treated with LAK/IL-2 was 16.1% (P < 0.05)."

Thanks sensei, that is much better evidence, and makes goji more interesting.  It would be good to know what the dose was in the 1994 Chinese study, as well as the route of administration.

I'm not sure, but I take waaay more than the recommended.

I take 120,000mg to 240,000mg (4-8 ounces) of juice (it's thick like syrup -- thicker than prune juice) -- I think I saw somewhere that the polysaccharides are 40% by dry weight of berries. I will see If I can find that citation.

I have not been taking recently (last few months) while using C60OO as not to perturb the experiment.

Just decided to add Goji and astragalus to my C60

I just downed a bottle of tincture -- effectively 20 grams dry root, plus 8 fluid ounces of "Genesis Today" brand Organic Goji 100.

That's what my local store has -- I don't promote any supplement maker.

FYI the Astragalus was GAIA. Oh and it tastes fouler than Kava --

Goji OTOH is an acquired yet pleasant taste.

I got Epitalon from Hugo aka: Sciwalk on the Epitalon thread, but don't think he sells the stuff anymore.

Your best bet probably is:

I didnt stop taking it out of choice; I couldn't afford any more at the time. Its not the kind of thing one should take continuously however.

Also don't disregard Gingko Biloba

I also take kava regularly -- ethanol extract of root.

Who knew it was anti cancer?

Just ordered a pound of organic astragalus root, shredded. I'm going to grind it to powder myself and make both water and ethanolic decoctions.

I also just ordered 2 lbs dried organic goji berries -- am going to do the same thing.

So my anti-aging stack will be astragalus, C60OO, and goji
